Spider-Man: the Animated Series
Well if anything is obvious about this game. It's the cheap graphics. All the characters have a grungey look to them. They just don't have that cartoonish feel. Not to mention their stunted growth. Which makes them appear like either a 10-year old or a munchkin. A very bad production & already pulls the game out of the "Animated Series" sense. Gameplay wise it's merely decent. You can jump, punch, kick, climb walls, & swing. All the basic moves Spider-Man uses. And you can also pick up special icons of the Fantastic Four. When used, calls upon a member of the F4 who performs some kind of mega attack which disables the enemies on the screen. Hard to Find & a pointless addition to the gameplay. My only gripe is the fact that he controls a little slow & he should have reacted much faster (come on, he's Spider-Man for crying out loud). You get see a good number of the super-villians from the show (heck, even some that never made an appearance). And some stages are modeled off of a couple of actual episodes. So that's kind of neat. But the craptacular grahics & weak control really put a hurt on things. In the end you'll get bored & wish there was simply more to do in this title. Spidey fans might wanna give it a quick look, but I can hardly recommend buying it. You're best off just giving it a rent if not steering away from it altogether..
