Strider

Stider is another one of those Capcom classics. This is a great take on the average platform titles we're all use to seeing by now. By adding the ability to upgrade your character and gain experience levels & magic the whole thing becomes so much more involved. And the revolving & twisting plot gives the game even more life & flair. We're even given the chance to use a weapon that's the closest thing to a light saber as you're ever going to see in a video game. There's also a lot of hidden items at your dispossal. You need certain items to reach hidden items & to open up other parts of the levels. Like the gravity boots that allow you climg straight up walls. All while you build up your character and make them stronger & more agile for the next fight. Not to mention learning helpful magic spells such as Health Replenish & Fire Ball Attack. In a way it's sort of like the prototype for the fabulous Mega Man X series on the SNES. Either way it's still a fun game & one of the best side scrollers you're ever going to find. And you better pick up while you can. Strider is going to be making a new debut on one of the next gen systems soon. So it's going to be a hard one to find just like with what happened to the Metal Gear series. Enjoy it while you can!
