Arba Vue Farm

The Arbaugh Farm started in 1819. John Arbaugh started with 150 acres and different animals on the family farm. Many of the family members work on the farm including Dale Arbaugh. They now own 1,600 acres and rent 3,00 more acres. It is the biggest dairy farm in Harrison and is fourth biggest dairy farm in Ohio. The farm has been running for 179 years. Most of the growth Dale has seen in his lifetime and he was born in the 60's.

The oldest barn was built in 1953. The older barns were torn down and replaced with newer, bigger buildings. They have 550 cows being milked on the farm. Another of their farms is milking 250 cows. they have 1,500 cows and heifers not being milked. Each cow produces an average of 19,000 pounds of milk each year. The cows are milked three times each day and 3,500 gallons of milk are shipped daily.

They started out with only three people working with the cows. Now they have 30 people working with the cows. The farm is one of the biggest employers in Harrison county. Besides milking cows they farm 1,000 acres of hay, 1,600 acres of corn, 300 acres of soybean which they sell and 300 acres of wheat which they also sell.

Arba Vue Farm got its name from Jewett's old name Fairview and from their last name. That is what they have called the farm since 1960.
