College
The Scio College had classes in Liberal Arts, Music, Education,
Business and Banking. The college itself had two buildings
and 15 teachers. At least 20,000 students attended it
while it was open. It merged with Mount Union College
in Alliance, Ohio in 1910 because of the Oil Boom in Scio.
Many parents did not approve of the numerous bars and the
rough characters who worked the oil rigs.
