"I Get Shy," sighs Danny Wood!

From outward appearances, you wouldn't think Danny has a care in the world.

But, there are a few things that shake this New Kid's confidence…

With a sold-out concert tour and three smash LPs under his belt, a new single and album, both titled 'Step by Step', racing up the music charts and the successful "Magic Summer Tour" in progress, New Kids on the Block member Danny Wood has achieved more than he ever dreamed.

Because fame and success are lying at his feet, one would think Danny has enough confidence to fill a room. Surprisingly enough, this isn't always

so!

Danny doesn't think of himself as more special than any other 21-year-old

with a passion for music!

Although many fans would disagree, Danny tends to think of himself as a

regular guy. And just like the average "Joe-Blow" living in "Any-City, USA,"this multi-talented New Kid needs some ego-boosting in two important areas: girls and career!

Dating is a sensitive and emotional topic for most young adults, and

Danny admits to feeling extremely tongue-tied when talking to members of the opposite sex. "I just get all shy and can't say anything!" blushes Danny.

Danny's career often throws him in front of more than just stage spotlights, and this includes socializing with girls just as famous as he is. Like most people, Danny experiences starstruck moments, and that's when this brown-eyed cutie really has his work cut out for him!

New Kids presented a trophy to Paula Abdul at the American Music Awards earlier this year, and Paula gave each of the boys a thank-you kiss.

Pink-cheeked Danny found it very difficult to wash his face after coming so

close to the talented performer!

Despite his bashfulness around girls, brown-haired Danny makes a great

effort to overcome his shyness when it comes to greeting NKOTB fans. Big

sis Melissa Wood reveals, "When Danny is stopped by a fan, he always talks to her and signs an autograph. He never says 'no'."

Danny's long-time best buddy, Tony Haley, agrees that New Kids fans have helped his shy chum gain confidence around girls…but pride in his musical abilities is another story.

Although Danny is pleased by the New Kid's success, the last thing he

considers himself is a star. "Danny is always putting himself down," sighs

Tony. "He doesn't realize just how good he is!"
