Six-Man MeleeSix-Man Melee, initially known as Bloody Valentine, is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event, broadcast annually in February by the professional wrestling promotion MECCA. The first event took place on February 12, 2005, under the name Bloody Valentine and was the company's first pay-per-view. It eventually became host to its signature match the Six-Man Melee, then called Six Man Apocalypse, in 2007. |

HistoryIn early 2005, MECCA debuted on local networks throughout the Midwest as a supporting promotion for Renegade Championship Wrestling. When Jon Zardt left the country and RCW was caught up in a legal mess with its creditors, the fanbase shifted to the new MECCA product. MECCA wasted no time in stepping into RCW's spot on pay-per-view in February, which PPV companies approved after seeing the first TV taping. Bloody Valentine was announced for February 12. In 2007, the event became the annual host of the Six-Man Melee Match, known back then as Six-Man Apocalypse, a match type that had made its debut the previous summer at Midsummer Night Slam. In 2010, as part of MECCA's PPV rebranding, Bloody Valentine changed its name to Six-Man Melee to further feature the eponymous match. Bloody Valentine 2005BackgroundBloody Valentine 2005 was the first pay-per-view event produced by MECCA for live broadcast. It took place at the Taft Masonic Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 12, 2005. From the beginning of MECCA, there was desire to crown a company champion. When Nykk addressed the crowd on the first episode of Go Time, he proclaimed that he and Ronin Fox would face off in the main event for the MECCA Championship. MECCA co-owner Katie Piehl intervened, revealing that the board of directors had stripped Nykk of his booking power and put her in charge. She decided on a Round Robin Title Challenge between the top five contenders, and the man who won would be the first champion. The top contenders were revealed as Nykk, Fox, Bryan Danielson, Low Ki, and CM Punk. The first three matches in the Round Robin Title Challenge were signed for Bloody Valentine, which would feature Punk against Danielson, Nykk against Fox, and Danielson against Low Ki. MECCA also wasted little time in creating the MECCA Tag Team Championship. Katie Piehl announced an International Invitational Tag Team Tournament, featuring teams from MECCA and around the world. On the very first episode of Go Time, David Caldwell made his return to Dayton. He targeted The Eccentrics utilizing his new clients Kaientai Deluxe to attack them as revenge for the Eccentrics injuring Caldwell back at RCW's WrestlingRevolution. Katie Piehl was quick to book the two teams in a first round match in the tournament for Bloody Valentine. However, on the countdown show, Caldwell revealed that Men's Teioh would not be at the show, blaming the Eccentrics for canceling his plane ticket. He challenged either Huh or Cheesecake to face Dick Togo on the PPV. In other first round action, The Pyro Twins were booked to take on Reckless Abandon, with both teams representing the United States. Results
Bloody Valentine 2006BackgroundBloody Valentine 2006 was the was the seventh pay-per-view produced by MECCA for live broadcast. It emanated from the Rave in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 11, 2006. On the February 1 edition of Go Time, Alan Mayse won a spot on the Contender Star when he defeated Charlie Haas. Katie Piehl had stated earlier in the show that the winner of the match would go on to Bloody Valentine to face MECCA Champion Kevin Stone. On the next episode, Alan put Stone down with his Tiger Bomb in a six-man tag team match, though he was unable to secure the fall. In late 2005, Charlie Haas entered MECCA along with his wife Mrs. Jackie. He immediately targeted the top guys, including Nykk, who he cost a championship match at New Year's Knockout. For their one on one match at Snowed In, Nykk acquired the services of his friend Lisa Letty to be in his corner to counter Jackie. However, Lisa accidentally cost Nykk the match after a brawl erupted between the women. But they were far from through with Haas and Jackie, and challenged them to a Mixed Tag Team Match at Bloody Valentine.

Bloody Valentine 2007BackgroundIn 2007, it was announced that Bloody Valentine would host the Six Man Apocalypse Match to determine who faced the MECCA Champion at The MECCA Challenge III on April 28. The match had previously been featured eight months before at Midsummer Night Slam. Bloody Valentine was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, Calfornia, on February 10, 2007. In early 2007, Alan Mayse was approaching his goal of beating his personal longevity record set by his third RCW Championship reign with the MECCA Toughman Championship. If he was able to get past the challenge of Joey Sprinklers, Mayse would last past 290 days as champion and achieve that goal. The Women's World Cup was slated to continue at Bloody Valentine, featuring two matches in the semi-finals of the upper brackets. First, Sara Del Rey, representing the United States, would take on Wesna, representing Germany. Later in the night, Daizee Haze, also representing the United States, would face Rebecca Knox, representing Ireland. Bloody Valentine also played host to the second Six Man Apocalypse Match, which had previously been featured at Midsummer Night Slam the previous year as the Six Pack Apocalypse. The winner would receive a shot at the World Title in the main event of the MECCA Challenge III on April 28. It would feature 25 MECCA competitors, including Nykk, Kevin Stone, Bryan Danielson, Ronin Fox, The David Caldwell Project and many more.

Bloody Valentine 2008BackgroundThe annual Bloody Valentine event emanated from the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, on February 23, 2008. The Six Man Apocalypse once again returned as the marquee match. By the beginning of 2008, MECCA executor Katie Piehl and MECCA's loyalists had The House of Lords on the ropes. By winning a Best of Five Series at End of the Line, they lost their power to book matches. However, Nykk struck back by consolidating his group and managed to get the MECCA World Title back in his grasp by defeating Bryan Danielson at Ignition. Also at the event, Austin Lee and Naomi Leach won the Mixed Tag League tournament, and received guaranteed title shots as their prizes. Lee chose to cash in his shot on Nykk at Bloody Valentine. On Go Time, Lee also reintroduced the RCW Championship to MECCA fans, having been the last man to hold it before the promotion went dark for good, having beaten Nykk back at WrestlingRevolution II in May 2005. He proposed that they reconcile MECCA with its past by unifying the two titles at Bloody Valentine, to which Nykk quickly agreed. One of the men to be fired when Nykk had consolidated the House of Lords was Cynric, brother of Nykk's tag team championship partner Ronin Fox. Cynric foiled Nykk's schemes over the next couple of weeks until Nykk and Fox ambushed him backstage. Nykk handed Fox a chair and told him it was time to decide where his loyalties lay. Fox chose the House of Lords by bashing Cynric's skull with the chair. From that point on, Cynric had no qualms about fighting his own brother and a match was signed for Bloody Valentine in their hometown. At the beginning of 2008, Kevin Stone was minding his own business when a fan started to harass him. The fan kept showing up to shows, seemingly bothered by Stone's existence. It was eventually revealed to be no fan, but The Necro Butcher, who was looking to get a spot on MECCA. He finally crossed the line by attacking Stone at Ignition by choking him out with barbed wire. On the February 13 episode of Go Time, Stone set a trap for Necro and told him that before he got thrown out of the building, he would have a contract waiting for him in the back for one match against Stone at Bloody Valentine, and to sign it if he accepted the challenge. Once again, Six Man Apocalypse was featured at Bloody Valentine, beginning an annual tradition. The winner of the contest between 25 MECCA competitors would receive a shot at the World Title at The MECCA Challenge IV on April 26. Men such as Bryan Danielson, The House of Lords, The Wild Wolf, Anubis, Eddie Crowe, Alan Mayse and many more were signed to compete.

Bloody Valentine 2009BackgroundThe annual Bloody Valentine event was broadcast live on pay-per-view on February 21, 2009. The show emanated from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. In early 2009, Anubis was in the midst of a legendary run as the MECCA World Champion. But on Go Time: Championship Edition a new challenger stepped up. Anubis was forced to defend his title in a Six Way Match, and one of the participants, The Necro Butcher, had the champ dead to rights before being foiled by the chaotic nature of the match. The next week, Necro and Anubis faced off, with Necro gaining a victory by count-out. Overlooked and pigeonholed for his entire career, Necro felt the next step was to prove himself by taking the title from Anubis. The two were quickly signed to a title match at Bloody Valentine. The Round Robin Faction War was set to continue at Bloody Valentine with The Consulate facing Epsilon Epsilon Epsilon in a standard tag team match. The Consulate was coming into the match way ahead the other factions with five points, but EEE had yet to get on the scoreboard and badly needed a win if they didn't want to be forced to split up. The annual Six Man Apocalypse match was slated to make its return at Bloody Valentine. 25 of MECCA's competitors would compete to see who went on to The MECCA Challenge V to face the World Champion. Bryan Danielson, Nykk, Eddie Crowe, The Briscoes, and many more were signed to compete.

Six-Man Melee 2010BackgroundIn 2010, MECCA rebranded a couple of its PPVs. The Bloody Valentine name was dropped and was renamed Six-Man Melee, combining its marquee match's name Six Man Apocalypse the name of the March PPV. The event was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, on February 13, 2010. At Ignition the previous month, the legendary 21 month World Title reign of Anubis was ended by Jamie Chan. Anubis wasted no time in campaigning for a rematch despite his neck still hurting, and he didn't have to wait long. Since he held the best win/loss record of 2009, he received an automatic shot at the World Title on Go Time: Championship Edition, which took place on February 4. In order to hedge his bets, Anubis enlisted the services of The Consulate once again, telling Prince Nana that he owed him a big favor for not being able to keep Chan, who was still under contgract with the Consulate, from coming after his title. Chan and Alan Mayse had a tag title shot due to their win/loss record in 2009, and Chan only took the match when Nana threatened him with breach of contract. However, it turned out to be a ruse as Mayse attacked Chan before the match, injuring his ankle. Despite this, Chan was able to make the main event against Anubis. Unfortunately for Anubis, just as he was about to defeat Chan, they hit the TV time limit and the match was stopped. Anubis was furious with the result and demanded another rematch the next week, and Katie Piehl gave it to him at Six-Man Melee, with the caveat that it would once again have a twenty minute time limit, due to the Six-Man Melee match taking up so much time, as well as the number of other matches on the card. In November of 2009, Allison Danger turned on Shadow after their match at No Regrets. She formed The Triumvirate with Sassy Stephie and Zoe Alexander. Danger would go on to win the MECCA Ladies' World Championship from Shadow, increasing her power in the ladies' division. Daizee Haze, meanwhile, impressed everyone by pinning Danger in a tag match. She sought a shot at the belt, but Danger proposed a gauntlet of sorts. If Daizee could beat Stephie and Zoe, she would get her shot. Daizee did so over the next couple of weeks, and the title match was signed for Six-Man Melee. At Ignition, it appeared the dissension between Ryan Andrews and Austin Lee was all a ruse, as they worked together to team up on Robbie Reno during their Triangle Match. However, Andrews won the match when he blindsided Lee, taking his Contender Star spot. Reno still wanted Andrews one on one, and interfered in a subsequent match between Andrews and Lee, causing Lee to win back his spot. He then revealed that he had been granted his one on one match with Andrews at Six-Man Melee. As always, Six-Man Melee would play host to its eponymous match, which may have had a different name, but the rules stayed the same. The winner of the 25-man gauntlet would go on to The MECCA Challenge VI to face the World Champion in the main event. Participants included competitors such as Eddie Crowe, Robbie Reno, The Consulate, The Pyro Twins, Austin Lee, and many others.

Six-Man Melee 2011BackgroundSix-Man Melee was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the Hara Arena in Dayton, Ohio, on February 19, 2011. After his victory at Ignition, Jimmy Jacobs made the shocking announcement that he not only would no longer defend the MECCA World Championship, but due to the contract he signed when arriving, he could not be stripped of the title either, putting the title in limbo and solidifying the Absence of Light's stranglehold on MECCA. Despite the objections of a number of former MECCA Champions, as well as finagling from MECCA lawyers, Jacobs's contract clause held, but the problem was the winner of the Six-Man Melee was supposed to receive a World Title shot at the MECCA Challenge in April. In order to mitigate anyone getting a title shot on a technicality, Jacobs entered himself and the rest of the Absence of Light into the Six-Man Melee match in order to field the winner and stop anyone from having a claim on the title. Meanwhile, a number of MECCA competitors entered themselves into the match, vowing to win and get the title shot at the MECCA Challenge, including Anubis, Jamie Chan, Ronin Fox, Marcus Kavian and many more. In the ladies' division, the Ladies' Champion Sassy Stephie was building a reign for herself as she managed to foil the audience's favorites by hook or by crook. After defeating Shadow and Naomi Leach in January, Daizee Haze was the next woman to step up to the plate. She became the number one contender by defeating Stephie in two separate tag team matches. Katie Piehl decided that was enough to crown Daizee as the top contender and booked a title match for Six-Man Melee.

Six-Man Melee 2012BackgroundSix-Man Melee was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the Mattamy Athletic Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on February 18, 2012. The annual Six-Man Melee Match was set to take place on the show, featuring twenty-five of MECCA's athletes vying for a chance at a shot at the MECCA World Championship in the main event The MECCA Challenge VIII. Many names were announced in the weeks leading up to the event, including Ronin Fox, Low Ki, Anubis, The Pyro Twins, and all four members of The Near Future. On the February 1 episode of Go Time, Eddie Crowe retained his World Championship by winning a Four Corners Match. However, the board of directors wasted no time in naming Tristan Lee as the new number one contender to face Eddie at Six-Man Melee due to his recent successes. Tristan was set to wrestle Eddie and his brother Jay Crowe in tag team action the following week, but his partner Anubis got thrown out of the building. Tristan's estranged brother Austin Lee showed up to be his partner, and they were able to defeat the Crowes. With Nykk officially bringing the Pyro Twins under his fold with Eddie as The Circle of Trust, Tristan felt he needed to even the odds and get some protection. The next week he introduced the debuting Dark City Fight Club to watch his back at Six-Man Melee. In December 2011, the Near Future was formed when they took over Go Time, and one of their victims was The Wild Wolf, who Marcus Kavian injured before his match. When Wolf and others confronted the Near Future later on and challenged them to an eight-man tag, Kavian added insult to injury by targeting Wolf's hurt neck to get the submission win. They faced off one on one the next week, but Kavian injured Wolf again, this time putting him out of action. Wolf would return a couple of weeks later, targetting the Near Future. He defeated Brandon Blade at Ignition, but it was Kavian he wanted. They were finally booked to face off again at Six-Man Melee.

Six-Man Melee 2013BackgroundSix-Man Melee was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, on February 23, 2013. The annual Six-Man Melee Match was set to take place on the show, featuring twenty-five of MECCA's athletes vying for a chance at a shot at the MECCA World Championship in the main event The MECCA Challenge IX. Many names were announced in the weeks leading up to the event, including Low Ki, Brian Kendrick, Eddie Crowe, Ronin Fox, The Pyro Twins, Aaron Glover, Terrence Bolton, and The Lee Brothers. Jack Evans had recently acquired a spot on the Contender Star, and was looking to get his shot at the World Title at Six-Man Melee. MECCA authority Cynric gave him an opportunity against two other members of the Contender Star in a Triangle Match on February 13, and Evans was able to pick up the victory. However, Torea was also looking for a shot at World Champion Marcus Kavian, a man he had a non-title win over. Kavian wanted his old partner out of MECCA entirely, so he made him a deal. If he could beat Aaron Glover and Terrence Bolton in a handicap match, he would get his title shot, but if not, he would have to resign immediately. Torea accepted the offer, and managed to pin Glover. However, Kavian interceded, saying that this was actually a handicap elimination match. Torea still succeeded by tricking Bolton into disqualifying himself. Cynric decided that since Kavian tried to pull a fast one, both Evans and Torea would face him in a Triangle Match for the title at Six-Man Melee. At the start of 2013, Brian Kendrick returned to MECCA to help out Low Ki, a man he had mutual respect for, in his battles against The Near Future. But after failing to win the World Title at Ignition, Ki became more and more frustrated and after losing a tag match on February 6 he turned on Kendrick. Kendrick turned up the next week, distracting Ki and costing him a Triangle Match for a shot at the World Title. Ki retaliated by costing Kendrick a spot on the Contender Star the very next week. Cynric didn't like that they ruined two big matches, so he decided to let them get it out of their system by letting them go at it one on one at Six-Man Melee.

Six-Man Melee 2014BackgroundSix-Man Melee was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the College Park Center in Dallas, Texas, on February 15, 2014. The annual Six-Man Melee Match was set to take place on the show, featuring twenty-five of MECCA's athletes vying for a chance at a shot at the MECCA World Championship in the main event The MECCA Challenge IX. Many names were announced in the weeks leading up to the event, including Alex Shelley, Marcus Kavian, Low Ki, Gary Kopp, Gran Akuma, Drake Younger, and Fenris. Several months before at Scared Stiff, Torea had won the World Title from Eddie Crowe. After finishing the Circle of Trust's other business, Eddie began to set his sights on regaining the title. He received a shot in a Four Corners Match as part of Go Time: Championship Edition in late January. Eddie had the pin at one point, but the referee was down. Torea would go on to win the match and retain the title, infuriating Eddie and his manager Nykk>. Eddie called out Torea the next week, who accepted Eddie's challenge for a one on one title shot at Six-Man Melee. Eddie sent The Pyro Twins out to embarrass Torea against Gary Kopp in the main event, but Torea was able to turn the tables and pick up the win once again. Eddie and Kopp would team up the next week to defeat Torea and Drake Younger, but a number of people either with grudges or competing in the Six-Man Melee Match hit the ring to brawl, preventing Eddie from doing further damage to the champion. After the Circle of Trust lost faction supremacy in MECCA to The Near Future at End of the Line, Nykk seemed to sour a bit on the Pyro Twins. After telling them to challenge for the MECCA World Tag Team Championship and even getting the Circle of Trust a title shot for Ignition, Nykk pulled them at the last minute and replaced them with Eddie Crowe and Gary Kopp, which didn't sit well with the Pyro Twins. They came down to confront Eddie and Kopp during the match, eventually costing them the titles. Nykk desperately tried to make peace, and the Pyro Twins did receive their shot on Go Time: Championship Edition in a Triangle Match against the Near Future and champions Alex Shelley and Brian Kendrick. The Pyro Twins lost the match, but were not the team beaten. MECCA Authority Cynric agreed to give them one more shot, and booked a title match against Shelley and Kendrick for Six-Man Melee.

Six-Man Melee 2015BackgroundSix-Man Melee was broadcast live on pay-per-view from the UNF Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, on February 14, 2015. As always, the annual Six-Man Melee Match would be the centerpiece of and headline the show, with a shot at the MECCA World Championship at The MECCA Challenge on the line for the winner. Twenty-five men would compete in the match, with the luck of the draw determining their entry order. Six men would be in the ring at the same time, with eliminations occuring by pinfall, submission, or disqualification, and once it was down to the final six, the match would become Anything Goes. Over the weeks, competitors such as Ryan Andrews, Fenris, Torea, The Pyro Twins, Alex Shelley, Brian Kendrick, and many more would throw their names into the ring for the match. Back at No Regrets, Trent Baretta would earn a shot at the World Title by winning a Four Corners Match. He recieved his title match in December, but his shot at Marcus Kavian ended in a disqualification when Kavian's Perimeter of Pain team interfered. Baretta was unable to get an immediate rematch, as he was not the man who eliminated Kavian at End of the Line. But after Kavian retained at Ignition, Baretta knew his time had come. But he didn't want Kavian to snake his way out of the match again with a disqualification, and wanted assurance that it would be fair. Baretta made the request for a Best 2 out of 3 Falls Match, and it was granted to him for the event. Upon returning to MECCA in December, Brandon Blade took Aaron Glover's side against their former Near Future stablemates, Marcus Kavian and Legacy Champion Terrence Bolton. Blade joined Glover's Perimeter of Pain team, and then sought a title match against Bolton in the following weeks. He won a petition match and was granted a title shot at Ignition, but Bolton walked away with the title after taking the cheap way out and getting himself disqualified. Blade wanted a rematch, and was able to win another petition match. His rematch against Bolton was set for Six-Man Melee just a couple of weeks later.
