When FPPVW began, it was started by Jon Z, who was a college student with absolutely no money. He had trained several wrestlers, and many of them were at the point where they no longer sucked. Thus Jon decided to hold events in mid-2003, for a company he called Future Pay-Per-View Wrestling. Sunstroke was the thirteenth monthly event.
Background
Sunstroke was the thirteenth monthly supercard for FPPVW. It took place in the Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio, on June 21, 2004. The event's name and date were chosen in reference to the Summer Solstice. It was filmed exclusively for DVD release.
