Professional wrestling career

Early career

When FPPVW was coming up in the wrestling world, Wolf and Anubis began training at their camp. Their main trainers included Jon Z, Nykk, and Ronin Fox. They were sent out into the independents to hone their skills, and never wrestled for FPPVW/RCW during its tenure.

Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts (2005-2008)

Debut and Early Career

With RCW's funds gone and the promotion caught up in a legal battle with its creditors, Nykk hastily put together a deal of his own in early 2005. He started MECCA, which at first stood for the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts, in order to save the jobs of the workers and crew of RCW. The Kanines didn't make their debut until the end of the year, debuting on the December 7 episode of Go Time, getting a win over The Concession Dream Team. They amassed some wins in the tag team division and also took part in the tournament for the Toughman Championship. Anubis was disqualified in his first round match with Low Ki, and Wolf also lost in the first round to Jack Fletcher. The Kanines went on to receive a count-out win over former tag champs The Eccentrics at Bloody Valentine, and got a clean victory in the rematch at Melee. They also got a win in a Triangle match at The MECCA Challenge II over the CDT and the Ballard Brothers. This was enough to earn them a title shot at Punked Out, but they lost to champions The Pyro Twins. They also entered the first Six Pack Apocalypse match at Midsummer Night Slam, with Anubis making it to the final three competitors before being eliminated.

They competed in a tag team Gauntlet match at Summertime Showdown, which was won by the UK Wrecking Crew. Anubis won a battle royale at Scared Stiff for a future shot at the MECCA Championship, and the Kanines worked their way back into tag title contention by November. At No Regrets, they defeated Eddie Crowe and Alan Mayse to win the MECCA Tag Team Championship. They successfully defended the titles at New Year's Knockout against The Surgeons and then Anubis cashed in his championship match against Eddie Crowe for Snowed In in January. However, Eddie was able to beat him and retain the MECCA Championship.

Defying Authority

In late 2006, a new power in MECCA emerged as David Caldwell gained co-ownership of MECCA and began to transform it into David Caldwell Sports Entertainment. This didn't sit well with wrestlers like Wolf and Anubis, who fought against his David Caldwell Project faction. The CDT, who had joined up with Caldwell, beat the Kanines for the tag titles on January 17 after interference from Bryan Danielson, who had betrayed co-owner Katie Piehl and the MECCA competitors. They raged as Caldwell and the CDT made a mockery of the titles, and also grew irritated at the treatment Caldwell and Project members were showing to the CDT's manager Medea Knight. On the February 21 episode of Go Time, the Kanines finally had enough and came to her aid, attacking the Project. On March 21, the Kanines regained the tag titles and Knight returned the favor, coming to their aid in a post-match attack. After that, she officially became their manager. With the feud against the Project coming to a head, Katie Piehl fielded a team to go against them in the Ultimate MECCA Challenge match at The MECCA Challenge III. Team captain Nykk chose the Kanines, as well as Low Ki and Kevin Stone to go against Danielson, Huh, Jamie Chan and the CDT, representing Caldwell, with ownership of the company on the line. Both Kanines were eliminated during the match, but Team MECCA ultimately won, with Nykk putting Caldwell out of action for good after the match and nearly crippling him. With that, Nykk sent the Kanines, Stone, Ki, the Pyro Twins and Katie Piehl out to celebrate, having temporary control of the company and having to stay and oversee the rest of the show.

Later in the night, Nykk, Ronin Fox and Lisa Letty formed a new alliance after the main event, beating down champion Eddie Crowe and laying waste to anyone who tried to interfere. They stole all the power in MECCA and called their new faction The House of Lords, revealing that the David Caldwell Project had been a ruse to get Nykk back into power, but one that had gotten out of control. They soon added Cynric, Joey Sprinklers, and Huh to their ranks and started looking to acquire MECCA's championships. At Punked Out, the Kanines defended the tag belts against the Pyro Twins. The House of Lords interfered, costing the Kanines the titles and revealing that the Pyro Twins had joined their ranks. The Kanines had more immediate problems, however, as on July 11 they won a match against the Surgeons, only to be attacked afterward. John Walters would defeat Anubis in a singles match at Liberty or Death when he was betrayed by Knight, who became the manager of the Surgeons. The Kanines were upset and out for revenge, and defeated the Surgeons at Summertime Showdown, only to be attacked after the match again, with both men being put through tables. This led to a Tables match at At Your Own Risk in September, with the Surgeons coming out on top. However, the Kanines were able to get their hands on Knight after the match and put her through a table, getting their revenge.

Singles Success and Breakup

With that feud done, the Kanines were free to go after the House of Lords and get their payback. They did that in a big way at Scared Stiff, with Anubis getting a huge victory over former World Champion Ronin Fox, while the Wild Wolf won the Toughman Title from his brother Cynric. Anubis was able to parlay his win into a chance at the World Title in a Four Way Dance at No Regrets, but was unable to win the belt. With their singles success, the Kanines started to drift apart and focus more on their individual careers. They did compete on Go Time's third anniversary show in a dream match against The Briscoes, and also competed against one another at Ignition for the Toughman Title, along with Alan Mayse in a Triangle match.

Anubis would go on to win the World Title from Nykk at The MECCA Challenge IV, and teamed with Wolf to lose to Nykk and Fox at Punked Out. As the months went by, grew more and more paranoid. This led to him turning on his friends, including the Wild Wolf. They would meet in a match for the title at At Your Own Risk in September 2008, which Anubis won. Later in the year, Wolf would join up with Prince Nana's Consulate group, which often lent out its members as partners for Anubis, who had no allies left. Occassionally Wolf and Anubis would reunite as a team, including in December 2009 in the first ever Championship Countdown match on Go Time against Nykk and Fox. However, no titles changed hands as the match went to its time limit.

In 2012, they would reunite several times and even entered the Trios Tag League Tournament together, along with Low Ki. They defeated Torea, Danny Dreggs, and Adam Brooks in the first round, and Upstarts International in the semi-finals. However, they lost to The Near Future at The MECCA Challenge VIII. Anubis's contract would expire a couple of months later, and his last appearance was teaming with the Wild Wolf in a loss to Aaron Glover and Terrence Bolton on the June 27 episode of Go Time.
