Professional wrestling career
Early career
Nathans and Fletcher were lifelong friends and wrestling fans, and began training to enter the business in mid 2002. By the end of the year, they were working independent promotions in their native UK. At the end of 2004, they decided to follow in the footsteps of their friend Austin Lee and move to the US in attempt to make it big in wrestling. They settled in the southeast Ohio area, as Lee was trying to get them a job with Jon Z's Renegade Championship Wrestling. However, RCW folded before they could make their debut.

International Champions
With RCW's funds gone and the promotion caught up in a legal battle with its creditors, Nykk hastily put together a deal of his own. He started MECCA, which at first stood for the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts, in order to save the jobs of the workers and crew of RCW. An International Invitational double elimination tournament was announced to crown the first MECCA Tag Team Champions, and the UK Wrecking Crew were brought in to represent the UK. They won their debut in their first round match in the upper brackets on the February 15 edition of Go Time, defeating Mexico's Fugitivos Locos to advance. They won in the semi-finals of the upper brackets against Japan's Katsushi Takemura and Keiji Sakota at Melee in March, and then faced The Pyro Twins in the finals a couple of weeks later. They wrestled an extremely close match, but the UKWC once again came out on top. Their task was not done, however. Another American team, Reckless Abandon, won the lower brackets of the tournament, earning the right to face Nathans and Fletcher in the finals at the first MECCA Challenge in April. The UK Wrecking Crew once again rose to the occasion and defeated them to win the MECCA Tag Team Championship and the World Cup.
On the following Go Time, MECCA co-owner Katie Piehl presented them with the World Cup, but the tarp was taken off to reveal a popup doll of a clown. The Eccentrics came out with the trophy, revealing they had stolen it as revenge for the UKWC cheating to defeat their fellow Eccentric Alliance members at the MECCA Challenge. The next week, the Pyro Twins, also upset at their loss to the UKWC and their being denied a rematch, found the trophy left alone in the Eccentrics' locker room and made off with it. The UKWC would defeat the Eccentrics at Punked Out, only for the Pyro Twins to come out with explosives strapped to the trophy and blow it up. The UK Wrecking Crew continued to duck the Pyro Twins, taking on several challenging teams over the summer and retaining their titles every time. They tricked Jay and Dusty into an attacking them outside the arena in August, which allowed them to get a restraining order, keeping them fifty feet away at all times. On October 4, the Eccentrics received another shot at the UKWC. The Pyro Twins appeared in the crowd during the match, shooting at Nathans and Fletcher with paintball guns, distracting just long enough to allow the Eccentrics to win the titles.
The UKWC retaliated by aligning themselves with Jay Crowe's estranged brother Eddie Crowe, joining his and Trent Acid's new SELF faction the next week to get under the skin of the Pyro Twins. They won an eight-man tag match against Nykk, Ronin Fox, Cynric and Alan Mayse on October 25, seemingly establishing themselves as a top force in MECCA. At Scared Stiff, Eddie helped the UKWC regain the tag titles from the Eccentrics. As Eddie was gloating about their success on the following Go Time, however, the UK Wrecking Crew blindsided him, beating him down and ending SELF with one stroke, in a further attempt to get under the skin of the Pyro Twins, who were unable to touch them due to the restraining order. Eddie returned to action on November 30 at the side of the Pyro Twins, and made the UK Wrecking Crew his immediate targets. Fletcher helped Nathans beat Eddie in a singles match at Snowed In, and Eddie confronted them on the following Go Time, only to get beaten down again. He was saved by Joey Sprinklers, who had suffered his own beatdown after a match with Fletcher, and the two went after the tag belts. The teams met at Bloody Valentine, but the UK Wrecking Crew came out on top. The Pyro Twins continued to call out Nathans and Fletcher, but to no avail. They finally got their chance for some payback in a six-man tag at Melee, where the UKWC teamed with Kevin Stone against Eddie and the Pyro Twins. During the match, the UKWC burned Dusty Schneble when they threw a fireball in his face. Jay attacked them in retaliation of the following Go Time, but once again the UKWC got him in the face with a fireball. On April 5, they were about to do the same to Eddie and Nykk after a title defense against them, but the Pyro Twins returned and made the save. Katie Piehl finally booked the rematch between them for the tag titles at The MECCA Challenge II, and Jay and Dusty finally defeated the UKWC to end their title reign and get their revenge by burning them with fireballs of their own.
Fighting Fire with Fire
The UK Wrecking Crew were out of action for two months before returning to compete in the first ever Six Pack Apocalypse match at Midsummer Night Slam. However, Fletcher was injured during the match and the UKWC was on the sidelines for another two months. They returned to action in a Gauntlet match at Summertime Showdown, beating The Killer Kanines and The CDT to win. Later in the night, they interfered in the tag title match, causing the Pyro Twins to lose the belts to Ronin Fox and Cynric. Instead of immediately going after the tag champs, Nathans and Fletcher turned their attention toward payback on Eddie Crowe, who was now the MECCA Champion. They both wanted a shot at the MECCA Championship and due to non-title wins over Eddie, got it in a Triangle match at At Your Own Risk. Eddie got the win, but was attacked after the match until the Pyro Twins came out to run off Nathans and Fletcher. Wanting one more match to settle the score once and for all, a Ring of Fire match was proposed for Scared Stiff with the only way to win being to set a member of one team on fire. The Pyro Twins put an end to the feud by setting Nathans on fire during the match, getting the win.
The UK Wrecking Crew would return to action on January 3, confronting their friend Austin Lee's younger brother Tristan Lee with an offer to join up with them, implying that they weren't so much asking as demanding. They returned in the ring the next week, defeating Delirious and The Human Tornado. Tristan came out to help them beat down their opponents after the match, and the UK Wrecking Crew officially became a faction. They defeated Delirious, Tornado, and Matt Sydal days later at Snowed In to establish themselves as a dominant force. They soon added female competitor Nikki Chandler to their ranks and would continue to feud with Sydal during the winter months, and also developed an issue with The Surgeons. They beat Sydal and the Surgeons in a six-man tag at The MECCA Challenge III in April. The women then got involved in their affairs and the trio teamed with Nikki Chandler at New Dawn to take on Delirious, Tornado, Sydal and Gail Kim in an mixed eight-person tag. The UK Wrecking Crew once again walked away with the victory.
However, their dominance in MECCA was rivaled by Nykk's faction The House of Lords, who held all the power in MECCA. The UK Wrecking Crew attracted Nykk's attention, and he took the opportunity to run them down in their home country of England. But they continued to have success, and Lee, Nathans, and Fletcher all qualified for the Eight-Man Throwdown at Punked Out. Nathans and Fletcher ended up on opposite sides of the random eight-man tag, and Nathans's team won. He went on to face his teammates in a Four Way Dance later in the night, but was eliminated by Alan Mayse. On the following Go Time on July 4, Nykk decided to celebrate America's birthday as well as The Pyro Twins' defection to the House of Lords by booking them to team with Cynric, Huh, and Joey Sprinklers in a Handicap match against Lee, Nathans, and Fletcher. The House of Lords won, but that didn't stop them from attacking the UKWC after the match. But then Tristan's brother Austin Lee emerged from the crowd, rallying his countrymen and sending the House of Lords packing after he and Tristan put Huh through a table. All four men would team to face Nykk, Cynric, Huh, and Joey Sprinklers at Summertime Showdown, but come out on the losing end.
The UKWC gained some payback when Nathans and Fletcher defeated Ronin Fox and Cynric on the following Go Time, and they sought a tag title match against the Pyro Twins. But another contending team emerged, as The Briscoes made their debut and immediately targeted Jay and Dusty. A Triangle match was signed for At Your Own Risk, but Jay pinned Fletcher to win the match. With their MECCA contracts about to expire, Nathans and Fletcher made the decision to leave the company and pursue other opportunities in wrestling. Their final match was a loss to the new Tag Team Champions, Matt Sydal and Delirious, on October 17.
Return
After two and a half years, the UK Wrecking Crew made their return in the Six-Man Melee match at Six-Man Melee in February 2010. They had some initial success with a win over Bloodlust in tag team competition, but Nathans sustained an injury that kept him out of action for about six weeks. In the meantime, Fletcher formed a temporary team with their old mate Tristan Lee that they informally called the New-K Wrecking Crew. They both competed in the Toughman Gauntlet at The MECCA Challenge VI, but Fletcher dropped the opening match to Torea after interference from his partner Kavian, which prompted Nathans to run down and start a brawl. The New-K Wrecking Crew also earned a shot at the tag titles. They faced The Invincible Outlaws on the following Go Time, but were unsuccessful. Nathans returned to action soon afterward, and they continued the feud against Bloodlust, beating them at New Dawn. They earned their way into a tag title shot against the Outlaws at Punked Out and defeated them to regain the titles for the first time in four years.
The Invincible Outlaws were enraged, and took it out on Tristan Lee, who formed a new team with Davey Richards to combat them. The Outlaws won a battle royale at Never Say Die to receive a title shot, and faced Nathans and Fletcher on the following Go Time, winning back the tag belts. The UKWC challenged them to a Stadium Riot at Summertime Showdown in a match where both teams were allowed a squad of men to back them up in a no holds barred brawl. The Outlaws won the match, but Nathans and Fletcher were granted one last shot at them. At At Your Own Risk the next month, they defeated the Outlaws in a Ladder match to once again become champions. After defeating FIST in two title matches, they were betrayed by Tristan and Richards after an eight-man tag. Tristan and Richards had formed the team of Deep Impact, and Tristan stated that they felt overlooked by Nathans and Fletcher for title shots, but Katie Piehl was upset about the way they conducted themselves. They agreed to meet the UKWC in a non-title match at No Regrets with the provision that a victory meant a title shot down the line. But the UK Wrecking Crew defeated them at the show, but not without controversy. They eventually got their title shot at End of the Line and ended the year by becoming Tag Team Champions. The UKWC sought rematches but were unable to win back the titles. In the winter of 2011, they were set to compete against Upstarts International for a shot at the belts, but High Def approached both teams about making it a Triangle match, promising title shots to both if they went on to become champions. It was agreed to, and High Def walked away with the win. But an issue developed between the UKWC and Upstarts International, who held Nathans and Fletcher responsible for their lost title shot. The UKWC teamed with Zoe Alexander to defeat Caron, Reno and Amber O'Neal in a six-person mixed tag at The MECCA Challenge VII. Upstarts International member Ares returned from injury soon after, and the feud continued. The UKWC took on Ares and Caron at New Dawn and lost after interference from Reno. Sick of the numbers game, Nathans and Fletcher stated they didn't care if they had to face all three men at once. They got their wish, and defeated Reno, Ares and Caron in a Handicap match at Punked Out.
Nathans and Fletcher then defeated High Def in a non-title match on the following Go Time, earning a title shot. They got the match on July 15, but it went to a time limit draw. When they were denied a five minute overtime, the UK Wrecking Crew blindsided High Def and beat them down. They revealed they had been upset that they had to win a match against the champs to get a title shot when they had already been promised one months ago. Katie Piehl decided to book a Best of Five series for the titles, where the winners of each match would be able to choose the stipulation for the next. High Def won the first match in the series on July 20, and another brawl ensued. Afterward, the champs chose a Texas Tornado match for the next bout at Never Say Die, which the UKWC won. Knowing that High Def's strong suit was not technical wrestling, Nathans and Fletcher chose a Submission match for the next bout, which they also won. After the match, they put the champs through a table and made their next match a Tables match. High Def came back to win that match, and chose a match that would enhance their strengths for the final match of the series. They wanted a Ladder match for Summertime Showdown, which was fine with the UKWC, who reminded them that they had regained the tag titles the previous year in a Ladder match. High Def won the series at Summertime Showdown, retaining their titles.
The UKWC feuded with Fox and Crowe after the pay-per-view and went to a double count-out with them on the September 7 edition of Go Time. The rematch took place two weeks later, with the UKWC getting the win. Both teams, along with Dusty Schneble and Torea, got a shot at High Def's tag titles in a 30-minute Iron Team Match at At Your Own Risk, but the champions were able to retain once again. Now out of the tag title picture, the UKWC focused on rebuilding, but met with middling success throughout the fall. In early 2012, Fletcher was attacked during a match with Jack Evans on Rundown by the upstart faction The Near Future, prompting the UKWC to form an alliance with their rivals High Def. On Go Time's seventh anniversary, the four men met the Near Future in an eight-man tag, but came out on the losing end. On the January 13 edition of Rundown, Nathans suffered an injury during a Triangle tag match, putting him out of action. Fletcher competed in singles matches over the next few weeks, and participated in the annual Six-Man Melee match, but both he and Nathans left MECCA shortly after when their contracts expired.
