Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts (2011-present)

Debut

Baker made his debut in MECCA under the name Brandon Blade in late 2011. After videos heralding his arrival, his first match was a victory against Adam Brooks at Scared Stiff in October. A few weeks later, he made his television debut on Go Time by beating Caron. He competed on the countdown show of No Regrets, but lost in dubious fashion to Torea.

The Near Future

In early December, Blade was set to be a part of the Take It to the Top Tournament. The first round was set to begin on December 7, but at the top of the show he joined Marcus Kavian, Aaron Glover and Terrence Bolton, half the participants in the tournament, in a beatdown of Gran Akuma and Kotoka Shiiba. Kavian said that he wasn't going to jump through any more hoops to make it to the top, and specifically chose Bolton, Glover, and Blade because they had no history in MECCA and were willing to be molded. They dubbed their group the Near Future and ended up hijacking most of the show, culminating in an eight-man tag team victory against MECCA mainstays Austin Lee, The Wild Wolf and High Def in the main event. They would cement their place on the roster when Kavian beat Shiiba and Glover, Blade, and Bolton defeated Lee, Akuma, and Drake Younger in a six-man tag ten days later at End of the Line.
