Professional wrestling career
Early career
Shortly after their lifelong friends Nykk and Ronin Fox began training under Jon Z, Huh and Cheesecake decided to get into the business as well and entered training. They debuted in early 2002 and worked various independents for the next couple of years.
Future Pay-Per-View Wrestling (2003-2005)
The Beginning
In July of 2003, Jon Z started his own promotion Future Pay-Per-View Wrestling. Huh and Cheesecake were amongst the first wrestlers hired, along with their friends Nykk, Fox, Jay Crowe, and Dusty Schneble. They debuted at the very first FPPVW show Premiere Showcase. They competed in a battle royale to open the show, which was won by Nykk. Later on, they wrestled their friends Jay and Dusty, The Pyro Twins in a tag team match, which Jay and Dusty won after illegal use of a chain. The rematch occurred two months later at Breakout, which the Eccentrics won after Huh pinned Dusty by accident, resulting in a Pyro Twins beatdown after the match. A Hardcore Match was signed for the second episode of Foundation on September 12, which the Pyro Twins won. The Eccentrics would come back with singles wins at Bloodbath, with Huh beating Dusty in a Table Match and Cheesecake beating Jay in a Hardcore Match. The feud continued at Homecoming Hell, with the Pyro Twins scoring a tag team victory.
Huh and Cheesecake would also have problems with newcomer Austin Lee when they hosted a haunted house on Halloween, featuring footage of Lee scratching his rear end in the middle of the ring. Lee took exception, and beat the crap out of both Eccentrics on the November 7 edition of Foundation. At this point they also realized they had t-shirts being sold, so they started a merchandise initiative. They also began a search for a manager which Huh thought would help them win the tag team titles, unaware that no such titles yet existed. They revealed their manager on December 13, a woman named Pinky who turned out to be a former manager at a local Kroger and who knew nothing about wrestling. Undeterred, they let her accompany them to the ring anyway. Despite their new guiding light, they lost a Steel Cage match to the Pyro Twins at Darkest Night in December 2003.
On January 23, Huh expressed his desire to Jon Z to create a new type of match, which Jon was to distracted to deny. This resulted in an Eccentrics Rules match on February 13 against Simon Diamond and Swinger. The match featured penalties for punching, a points system, a search for a mystery box, water pistols, and giant boxing gloves. The match finally ended when a disoriented Huh tagged one of his opponents, making them both legal. Diamond and Swinger attempted to outsmart their opponents by pinning one another, but due to the rules the Eccentrics won the match since one of their opponents lost the fall.
The FPPVW Tag Team Championship
On the January 23 edition of Foundation, the Pyro Twins would interject themselves into an issue between their old high school friends. They would help Nykk, leader of The Heel Stable and Joey Sprinklers beat down Kevin Stone, one of their former members. They officially joined the group, and became Nykk's enforcers. Then on the February 20 edition of Foundation, Nykk dropped the bombshell that he had taken it upon himself to crown the first FPPVW Tag Team Champions. He introduced the the Pyro Twins, who he claimed had won a tournament in Rio de Janeiro officiated by shady referee David Caldwell. He presented them with belts, and FPPVW owner Jon Z was livid. But it was legit, since Nykk had sneaked in the paperwork for the tournament while Jon was busy signing documents a few weeks before. Jon retaliated by announcing a double elimination tournament of his own for the Ohio Tag Team Championship. He announced that the winners of the titles would then face Jay and Dusty at WrestlingRevolution in two months to unify the two titles and crown the first official FPPVW Tag Team Champions. The Pyro Twins became concerned that the Eccentrics might win the tournament and face them once again at WrestlingRevolution, but quickly realized after dominating their feud that they would be easy opponents.
The Eccentrics dropped their first round in the upper brackets to Austin Lee and Cody Hawk, but due to double elimination rules they would have one more chance to advance in the tournament if they won the lower brackets. They managed to win a four-way match at Gauntlet between all four losing teams from the first round in order to advance. In the meantime, they competed in another Eccentrics Rules match, this time against the Villanos. In this match, a penalty resulted in a quiz show breaking out in the style of Double Dare, with the Eccentrics choosing a physical challenge involving Cheesecake spraying whipped cream into a cup Huh was holding. Before they could finish, the Pyro Twins attacked and laid out the Eccentrics and the Villanos. The next week, they also picked up a new member of their managerie, a mentally unstable man named Torgo. On April 2, they faced the losing teams in the second round of the Ohio Tag Team Tournament and won again, advancing to the finals of the lower brackets. Two weeks later, they faced Chris Stylez and Johnny Kashmere, who lost the finals of the upper brackets. The Eccentrics won the match and earned the right to face Hawk and Lee again at Countdown in the tournament finals. The Eccentrics won when Lee abandoned his partner, and the Eccentrics won the tournament and the Ohio Tag Team Championship. They would go on to beat the Pyro Twins at WrestlingRevolution on May 15 to become the first official FPPVW Tag Team Champions and putting scab referee David Caldwell out of commission.
The Eccentrics' glory would be short-lived as they dropped the titles back to the Pyro Twins in a rematch on July 6. They also lost a Handicap Match to Austin Lee, the new leader of the Heel Stable, at Breakout. The Eccentrics would continue the feud against the Heel Stable and would team with Aki Mann and Swinger to take them on in an eight-man tag at Bloodbath, which their team won after Nykk interfered. They would go on to compete in two battle royales to determined the top contenders for the RCW Television Championship, but neither man was able to make the cut. They were also set to compete in the Road to the Revolution Tournament in early 2005, but it was cut short when the promotion went dark. The roster would reunite one last time for WrestlingRevolution II on May 14, with the Eccentrics getting a tag team victory over Aki Mann and Joey Sprinklers.
Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts (2005-2007)
International Invitational
With RCW's funds gone and the promotion caught up in a legal battle with its creditors, Nykk hastily put together a deal of his own. He started MECCA, which at first stood for the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts, in order to save the jobs of the workers and crew of RCW. The Eccentrics made their debut on the first episode of Go Time on January 4, 2005, appearing in the ring to celebrate the new promotion. They noticed Trent Acid sitting in the crowd, and Cheesecake challenged him to a match, which Acid won. After the match, he and Huh were attacked by Kaientai Deluxe and the returning David Caldwell, who was out for revenge from the previous year. Shortly thereafter, MECCA co-owner Katie Piehl announced a double elimination International Invitational Tournament to crown the first MECCA Tag Team Champions. The Eccentrics were supposed to face Kaientai in the first round at Bloody Valentine, the company's first pay-per-view. However, Men's Teioh could not make it due to travel problems and Huh lost a singles match to Dick Togo. Their first round match took place on the next Go Time, but the Eccentrics once again suffered defeat. Two weeks later, they lost their first round match of the lower bracket against Reckless Abandon, putting them out of the tournament.
Impressed with Spanky and Delirious, the Eccentrics convinced them to join forces and formed The Eccentric Alliance. On April 5, the Eccentrics cost KDX their lower bracket match in the International Invitational against Reckless Abandon, setting up a match between them at The MECCA Challenge, where Huh and Cheesecake finally got their big win. This was enough to put them into the number one contenders' slot for the first MECCA Tag Team Champions The UK Wrecking Crew. The two teams faced off the next month at Punked Out, but the Eccentrics were unable to win the titles.
A feud began with SELF when Cheesecake beat MECCA Champion CM Punk by count-out, prompting an attack from his men. The four Eccentric Alliance members met Punk, the Pyro Twins and Eddie Crowe at Liberty or Death in July. The Eccentrics won when it came down to Spanky and Cheesecake against Eddie, with Spanky picking up the victory. They also added two new members to their group at this time, a narcoleptic man named Dreamo and his manager Medea Knight. They received another shot at the tag belts against the UK Wrecking Crew on October 4, and won the titles after interference from the Pyro Twins. Their reign would once again be short-lived, however, as they dropped the titles back to the UKWC at Scared Stiff after Eddie Crowe interfered. They also feuded against Kevin Stone briefly, and caught the ire of Ronin Fox in December.
Fox recruited his brother Cynric in order to take on Huh and Cheesecake, and they went back and forth throughout early 2006. Fox and Cynric beat Huh and Cheesecake in a tag match at The MECCA Challenge II, and again in a Falls Count Anywhere Match on the next Go Time. Around this time, Cheesecake began branching out more and more into singles competition, and was often seen on the phone with an unknown person. After losing more tag matches, Cheesecake began to become frustrated, and eventually attacked Huh after losing a match for the Tag Team Championship. Not really sure why Cheesecake turned on him, Huh challenged him to a match at Summertime Showdown, which Cheesecake won after spraying disinfectant in Huh's eyes and pinning him.
Cheesecake would go on to reveal the person he was talking with on the phone and responsible for his new attitude was Coquette, his new manager. They quickly ran afoul of Matt Sydal, and beat him and Daizee Haze in a mixed tag match at At Your Own Risk. Afterward, Cheesecake received three straight shots at the MECCA Championship, but failed to win it from Eddie Crowe. This made him lose his spot on the Contender Star, and seemed to humble him a bit. Upon seeing the success his former partner Huh was having once he joined The David Caldwell Project, Cheesecake would attempt to join as well in early 2007. However, Caldwell refused him, resulting in a slap from Cheesecake. This prompted Caldwell to make a match between him and Huh later in the night with the loser forfeiting their MECCA career. Huh pinned Cheesecake, putting him out of MECCA.
