Watson moved to the Dayton, Ohio, area shortly after graduating high school in order to train at the MECCA Training Camp under Ronin Fox and Nykk, among others, in mid-2011. As part of his training, upon graduation he paid his dues at MECCA's shows by working security, concession stands, ring crew, and other odd jobs. On his off nights, he plied his trade on the independent circuit, quickly developing a reputation for his agility, high-flying moves, and smooth execution.

Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts (2013-present)

Debut

Watson made his MECCA debut under his real name on the June 14, 2013, episode of Blast Zone with a win over Asa King. He was used infrequently against MECCA's stars both on Blast Zone and Go Time, the flagship show, in order to give him some experience. His most notoriety during this time came when he was a participant in the 2014 Six-Man Melee match, though he only lasted a short time before being eliminated by Drake Younger. His last match under his real name occurred on the December 5, 2014, episode of Blast Zone in a loss to Alex Shelley. A few months later, he signed a contract with MECCA and made his debut as Chris Peake on the April 22, 2015, episode of Go Time, defeating Gran Akuma.

Skywatch

Peake was immediately thrust into the Battlebrawl Match at The MECCA Challenge XI, but was not able to get the win. A few weeks later, he teamed with Brandon Blade to defeat Alex Shelley and Fenris on Go Time. They immediately gelled, and decided to form a regular tag team called Skywatch, with a Tron-inspired look and entrance. They defeated Damage Control in their first official match under their new name at Punked Out. Soon afterward, the The Young Bucks were stripped of the MECCA World Tag Team Championship when Matt Jackson was entered. An eight-team single elimination tournament was held, and Skywatch was entered into it. However, they lost in the first round to Oi4K at Never Say Die. They continued to feud with the Crist brothers over the next couple of months, culminating in a Tables Match at At Your Own Risk, which they won. This propelled them to the top of the tag team division, and they got a title shot against The Motor City Machine Guns at Scared Stiff the next month. Unfortunately, they were not able to walk away with the win.

Skywatch continued to earn their stripes in the tag team division, and finished 2015 with the best win/loss record of any team. But Blade went down with an injury in early 2016, and they could not get their shot at the tag titles on Go Time: Championship Edition. Peake picked Kenny Omega as his replacement partner for the match, but they were not able to unseat champions Marcus Kavian and Terrence Bolton. Blade returned shortly after, and they continued to win matches together, earning them another chance at the titles at The MECCA Challenge XII. The Pyro Twins were the champions by this point, and they welcomed the challenge from a young, hungry team. At the MECCA Challenge, after a competitive match, Peake suddenly used a chair on Dusty Schneble outside the ring, taking him out of the match. He then used it on Jay Crowe, allowing Blade to get the pin on him. After the match, they continued their attack, using both a chair and a ladder on the Pyro Twins. Skywatch stated later that their change of attitude was due to the fact they knew they had to develop an edge to succeed, as no titles came their way when they were playing by the rules. The Pyro Twins received a rematch in a Ladder Match at New Dawn, which Skywatch won after interference from AC Sledge.

Skywatch would move on to a rivalry with The Remix next, after Blade lost a qualifying match for Eight-Man Throwdown to Angelico. They beat him down after the match, until Gary Kopp and Jack Evans ran them off. The next week, Kopp made noise about going after the tag belts, which Skywatch took exception to. They agreed to a non-title match for the June 14 Go Time, but were defeated by Kopp and Evans. This earned them a title match at Punked Out, but Skywatch was able to retain after interference from Fenix, who had his own issues with the Remix.
