Fenris

James Richard Cruise, better known by his ring name Fenris, is an American professional wrestler. He is a member of MECCA management, where he has worked as assistant booker, writer, trainer, and performer, since 2005. Prior to that, he worked for FPPVW/RCW as a performer, head booker, and writer.

In MECCA and FPPVW/RCW, Ronin Fox has headlined most of the major events and pay-per- views. In MECCA, he was a co-founder of The House of Lords, a group of heels bent on revenge and power. In FPPVW/RCW, he was the only man to hold the RCW Television Title during the promotion's tenure. After moving on to MECCA, he became a triple crown winner when won the World Title once, the Toughman Title once, and held the World Tag Team Championship twice (with Nykk).

Professional wrestling career

Early career

Fenris began to train in 2001 under Jon Z, a college classmate who had become a professional wrestler but had to quit due to injuries. His lifelong friend Nykk was also recruited. Nykk and Fenris, as Ronin Fox, both debuted in the fall of that year as a tag team and worked various independents for the next two years.

Future Pay-Per-View Wrestling (2003-2004)

The Beginning

In July of 2003, Jon Z started his own promotion Future Pay-Per- View Wrestling. Fox was hired, and competed in the very first match of the first show, Premiere Showcase. He competed in a battle royale, which was won by Nykk. Fox would go on to face Nykk in the main event of the show and win the match. However, Nykk got his win back at Shut Up and Wrestle in a Falls Count Anywhere Match, but their wins were enough to put them both in contention to crown the first champion. At Breakout the next month, he faced Nykk, Alan Mayse, and Jett Taylor in a Four Way Dance for the FPPVW Championship. Nykk was eliminated alongside Fox as they were unable to answer the referee's ten count and get back in the ring, and Mayse went on to pin Taylor to win the match.

Nykk was chosen to face Mayse in his first title defense on the inaugural episode of Foundation. Fox was appointed the special guest referee, and ended up getting into it with Nykk and causing him to lose the match, escalating their rivalry. The next week, Nykk faced Fox for the right to a championship match, but first debuted his new stable, consisting of himself, Joey Sprinklers, Kevin Stone, and Vix, who helped him take out Mayse and win his match against Fox. Stone would help Nykk win the belt from Mayse at Bloodbath in a First Blood Match. Nykk revealed the name of his new group as The Heel Stable and they helped him hold onto the FPPVW Championship at any cost. Fox challenged Nykk for the title at Homecoming Hell, but came up short. He then developed a rivalry developed with Alan Mayse, who felt that Fox had taken the title shot that was rightfully his. They met in a No DQ Match at November Pain, which Mayse won. They showed mutual respect after the match, and united in their desire to take down the Heel Stable. Fox beat Simon Diamond the next month at Darkest Night. His rivalry with Nykk escalating, Fox lost another match to him at Burn It Up, but lost it after the match, hitting Nykk with his own finishing move and a chair.

Fox, Nykk, and Mayse were chosen to challenge FPPVW Champion Super Crazy in a Four Way Dance at Pain and Glory. Fox eliminated Nykk during the match, and he in turn caused Fox to be eliminated. His revenge against Fox came at Gauntlet in a Dayton Death Match, where Nykk won after dropping Fox on his head twice with the Aurora Driver, a move that had been banned from FPPVW ever since the inaugural title match. Fox had to be stretchered out of the arena, and it was thought he would be out of action indefinitely. Luckily, Fox was not seriously injured, though he and Jon Z hid this fact from everyone, especially Nykk, who had wormed his way into another title shot against the new champion Alan Mayse at Countdown. Fox returned and cost him the match. Fox attacked Nykk again on the next Foundation after challenging him to a match at WrestlingRevo lution, FPPVW's first anniversary show. Nykk accepted the challenge, but not before striking a deal with Austin Lee, who would be challenging Mayse for the World Title. In exchange for helping him end Fox's career, Nykk offered him David Caldwell as the referee for his title match. Jon Z was reluctant to let the match happen, since he was concerned about Fox's neck and didn't want him to end up paralyzed. Finally, he agreed to it when Fox signed a medical waiver, but stated the match wouldn't be sanctioned by FPPVW. At WrestlingRevolution, Nykk's deal with Lee fell apart when The Eccentrics injured Caldwell, which meant Lee refused to help Nykk in his match. Fox got his revenge by dropping Nykk on his head with the Emerald Fusion, pinning him to win their unsanctioned match.

Renegade Championship Wrestling (2004-2005)

A True Renegade

After WrestlingRevolution, Fox expressed an interest in teaming with The Eccentrics for a six-man tag, but suffered an unrelated injury before their match at the next monthly event. He returned on the July 6 episode of Foundation, beating Johnny Kashmere. During this time, FPPVW rebranded as Renegade Championship Wrestling, and Fox was chosen to receive a title shot against Alan Mayse at the first company pay-per-view on July 24, Breakout . Fox was unable to win the title, but once again shook hands with Mayse afterward. Fox continued his feud with the Heel Stable, now under the leadership of Austin Lee. The two met at Firestorm, with Lee coming out with the victory. He dropped another match to newcomer and ring veteran Christopher Daniels on the September 7 edition of Foundation, and met him again in a rematch at Bloodbath, where Fox got his payback with a big victory. Soon after, it was announced that RCW would be introducing a Television Title, and to determine the first champion, two battle royales would be held. The two men left at the end of each one would face off in a mini- tournament to crown the champion. Fox and Insane Dragon were the remaining two men in the October 12 battle royale, and Fox defeated him in the subsequent singles match. The finals took place at Homecoming Hell, where Fox defeated Christopher Daniels to become the first Television Champion.

Fox defended the title often and against a variety of challengers, and won a first round match in the Road to the Revolution Tournament in early January 2005. But then adversity struck. RCW had grown very profitable in a very short time, and Jon Z suddenly left the country with money he had allegedly embezzled from the company. The company stopped running shows in early 2005, though the roster did reunite for WrestlingRevolution II in May. Ronin Fox successfully defended his Television Title against his brother Cynric on that night, and the promotion went dark.

Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts (2005-present)

A New Beginning

With RCW's funds gone and the promotion caught up in a legal battle with its creditors, Nykk hastily put together a deal of his own. He started MECCA, which at first stood for the Midwestern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts, in order to save the jobs of the workers and crew of RCW. On the debut of Go Time, he came out to address the crowd and establish himself as the top guy. He stated that he and Ronin Fox would face off in the main event to crown the first MECCA Champion and use their rivalry to build this promotion the way they did the last. However, his business partner Katie Piehl intervened and nixed the title match, stating that the MECCA board of directors had seen the way he had run roughshod over RCW and as a result banned him from making any executive decisions relating to the promotion's content. Instead, she would be the recognized authority in MECCA, and booked Nykk in a tag team match in MECCA's first main event against CM Punk and Ace Steel. His partner was to be the man he had planned to face, Ronin Fox. Nykk and Fox spent the match trying to sabotage each other in addition to getting the victory, and finally Fox caused Nykk to take the pin to end it. Over the next few weeks, Piehl evaluated talent and decided that the first champion would be the winner of a Round Robin Challenge which would play out over the coming months. The five competitors entered into the Round Robin were Fox, Nykk, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and Low Ki. At MECCA's first pay-per-view event, Bloody Valentine on February 12, Nykk defeated Fox in his first match of the Round Robin. Fox rebounded by defeating Punk on the next episode of Go Time, but lost to Low Ki two weeks later. He faced Danielson at Melee, but was unable to win and force a five-way tie. Despite this, Fox came back strong and won the first Four Corner Chaos Match on March 22, defeating Low Ki, Punk, and Cynric. Two weeks later, Ki, unhappy about taking the loss to Fox, called him out. Fox accepted the challenge for the first MECCA Challenge event. However, Fox subsequently suffered a broken leg while wrestling for another promotion and was put out of action for several months. He returned at Libert y or Death in July, beating Trent Acid in a singles match. He formed a team with Alan Mayse, but they were unable to take the MECCA Tag Team Championship from The UK Wrecking Crew. He then turned his attention to the man he was supposed to face at the MECCA Challenge, Low Ki. They met at the first FSN special At Your Own Risk, with Fox losing a hard fought match. Ki tried to attack after the match, but Fox foiled the attempt and stole Ki's bandana.

Quest for Gold

On the next Go Time, Nykk was found unconscious backstage. It was apparent someone had attacked him, and Nykk blamed Low Ki due to the bandana he found at the scene of the crime resembling the ones he wore. He eventually learned that Ki was just arriving at the building at the time he was attacked, and knew it couldn't have been him. The next week, in an attempt to patch up their past differences, Nykk offered Ronin Fox a shot at the title at the next pay-per-view Scared Stiff, which Fox accepted. They ended up going to a sixty minute time limit draw in their hometown. On the next Go Time, Nykk was once again attacked backstage, and though he was able to get a look at his attacker, the camera didn't catch it. The next week on November 9, Nykk revealed that it was Fox who had attacked him. He called Fox out for an explanation, and Fox stated that watching the fans start to cheer Nykk made him sick, and by their forgiveness of him it had pissed on everything Nykk had tried to take away from him. He followed this by cheapshotting Nykk yet again. The two met to settle the score in an Ironman Pendulum Match at No Regrets, in which Nykk came out on top.

Having turned his back on the fans, Fox made it his mission to convince his brother Cynric to do the same. Cynric was having none of it, but a series of circumstances in which Cynric was screwed out of matches forced him to reevaluate. Fox, meanwhile, was having issues with The Eccentric Alliance, and needed a partner. On the January 18 edition of Go Time, Fox defeated Cynric after hitting him with a low blow. The next week, Fox explained he had talked to Katie Piehl and had the decision reversed, giving Cynric his spot back on the Contender Star and manipulating him into coming over to his side. Cynric finally joined him the next week on Go Time: Night of Champions, where they received a tag title shot against the UK Wrecking Crew. They were disqualified, but Fox wasn't daunted. He was entered into the tournament to crown the first MECCA Toughman Champion. He defeated Huh in the first round, as well as Eddie Crowe and Concession Boy in a Triangle Match in the next round. This put him in the four-way semi-final match at Melee against Alan Mayse, Trent Acid and Matt Sydal. When the first fall occurred, the man who scored it would advance and the man who took it would be eliminated, and then the other two men would face off in a second fall to determine the other participant in the finals. Acid scored the fall on Sydal, leaving Fox and Mayse in the ring. Fox gave it his all, but was not able to overcome Mayse. He and his brother continued to feud with the Eccentric Alliance, and defeated Huh and Cheesecake at The MECCA Challenge II and again on the next episode of Go Time in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Fox and Cynric turned their attention to the Tag Team Championship, and got their shot at Mi dsummer Night Slam against The Pyro Twins. Fox and Cynric caused an intentional DQ when it looked like the Pyro Twins were about to win, and worked toward getting another title match. They received their rematch at Summert ime Showdown, and finally won the belts thanks to interference from The UK Wrecking Crew. A ruckus ensued on the next Go Time when Fox and Cynric successfully defended against Nykk and Joey Sprinklers. Nykk's love interest, Lisa Letty got caught in the melee and wound up taking a shot to the back of the head from Fox with a metal trash masher, rendering her unconscious and immobile. Lisa came to as EMTs attended her, but said she couldn't feel anything below her neck. The very next week, Nykk declared his intention to take a hiatus to be by Lisa's side as she was convalescing, perhaps feeling that this was his comeuppance for his past attempts to cripple Fox and others. But before he left, he stated his intention to end Ronin Fox once and for all when he returned.

Fox and Cynric continued to defend their Tag Team Championship, and Fox challenged Eddie Crowe for the MECCA Championship as well. They met at Scared Stiff, but the match was thrown out after interference from Cynric and the Pyro Twins. Nykk made his return as well, attempted to do Fox in with the same type of trash masher he had injured Lisa with. Nykk challenged Fox to MECCA's first ever Steel Cage Match for No Regrets, which Fox had to be coerced into accepting. Fox won the match on the bi-monthly special, but Lisa Letty emerged from under the mat and blasted Fox in the head with a trash masher, gaining some measure of payback. Fox and Cynric eventually lost their titles to the team of Alan Mayse and Eddie Crowe. Undaunted, Fox continued his quest for Eddie's World Title, participating in the Six-Man Apocalypse Match at Blood y Valentine in February 2007. Fox won the match and with it a title shot at The MECCA Challenge III. Fox stepped up his rivalry with Eddie Crowe, and almost managed to beat him for the title, but lost. After the match, he attacked Eddie, only to be stopped by Lisa Letty, who had remained at ringside when Nykk countered the interference of Cynric. However, Lisa then helped Fox attack Eddie. She and Fox embraced afterward. Nykk pretended to be upset about this before embracing Fox himself. The three of them took out Eddie and much of the remaining roster. He stated that he never liked the idea about giving his power back after one night, and named this new faction The House of Lords.

The House of Lords

The next night, Nykk revealed that this entire plan had not been his but Lisa's. They wanted revenge on Katie Piehl and the board of directors for forcing Nykk to choose between his ownership of MECCA and Lisa. He then revealed that he had been in cahoots with David Caldwell from the start to make sure there was enough chaos that he could come in and seize power. But Caldwell went into business for himself, and Nykk was forced to fight against him all the while telling him privately that he would aid him in victory at the crucial moment. Fox also revealed that his involvement was due to being sorry about what he had done to Lisa, and realizing that he and Nykk would destroy each other if they kept feuding. So he reached out to them and they informed him of their plan. With the addition of Cynric to their group, they quickly disposed of the remnants of the David Caldwell Project and set their sights on the World Title. There seemed to be issues right from the get-go when both Fox and Nykk won a shot at Eddie Crowe. Nykk ended up facing Eddie at New Dawn, but came up short. After the match, Nykk revealed that he had scheduled a second title match with Ronin Fox, who beat an exhausted Eddie to take the title.

With their success, the Pyro Twins, Joey Sprinklers, Huh, and Shadow joined the group, making them even more powerful. The Pyro twins soon won the tag titles, Lisa Letty regained the Ladies' Title, and Cynric won the Toughman Title, giving the House of Lords control over all the belts. They continued to dominate the company, but others chose to fight them. On the July 4 episode of Go Time, Nykk booked a handicap match against The UK Wrecking Crew, but their domination was short-lived when Austin Lee made his MECCA debut. On the next show, Lee revealed that it was Katie Piehl who had hired him. Even though there was nothing the board of directors could do about Nykk's ownership, what they could do was appoint a new position of authority, which gave Katie the power to book matches as well as hire and fire personnel. She booked a best of three tag team series for Liberty or Death, with the winning side getting the power to book Summertime Showdown the next month. The MECCA loyalists lost the series, and Katie took the opportunity to book Nykk, Cynric, Huh, and Joey against the entire UK Wrecking Crew at Summertime Showdown, as well as Lisa Letty defending the Ladies' Title against Daizee Haze, the Pyro Twins defending the tag belts against Stone and Danielson, and Shadow against Sara Del Rey, in addition to Fox defending his title against Alan Mayse, who had won the right to face him for the title by winning Eight-Man Throwdown in June. However, all House of Lords members won their matches and seemed to be stronger than ever, especially after Alan Mayse was convinced to join them rather than oppose them.

Chinks in the Armor

On the August 29 edition of Go Time, Lisa and Nykk were surprised to find a confused Delirious lurking in her dressing room. Convinced that he was a pervert, Nykk booked himself and Lisa against Delirious and a partner at At Your Own Risk, with the stipulation that Delirious would be fired from MECCA if he lost. Katie Piehl countered with the stipulation that if Delirious and his partner won, they would get guaranteed title shots. But before that event, the House of Lords suffered their first real loss when Bryan Danielson won the World Title from Ronin Fox, despite interference from House of Lords members. When At Your Own Risk arrived, Delirious revealed his mystery partner as the masked Shelirious, who bore a similar resemblance to Daizee Haze. Delirious managed to tap Nykk out to win the match, and then Shelirious got on the microphone, cashing in her title shot on Lisa right then and there. Shelirious won the match and took another title from the House of Lords. Delirious wasted no time in cashing in his title shot against the Pyro Twins, and with Matt Sydal as his partner, won those titles. Though Shadow regained the Ladies' Title for the House of Lords at Scared Stiff, Cynric then lost the Toughman Title to The Wild Wolf. The House of Lords shifted their focus to driving a wedge between Danielson and Eddie Crowe, who would be facing off in a World Title Match. Their plan to convince each man that the other was joining the House of Lords backfired and forged a new alliance between Crowe and Danielson. Gearing up for a final battle, Katie Piehl proposed a Best of Five Series for End of the Line, featuring the MECCA loyalists against the House of Lords with control of the company on the line. On the Go Time right before the event, Fox and Nykk regained the tag titles for the House of Lords by defeating Delirious and Sydal. The deciding match of the Best of Five came down to Bryan Danielson and Ronin Fox in a rematch for the World Title. Danielson knocked Fox out, forcing the ref to end the match, and Katie Piehl's contingent came out the winners.

Downfall

On the next Go Time, Nykk stated that in order for the House of Lords to overcome their setbacks, they would have to endure and only the tough would survive. He announced he was downsizing the group, and fired everyone who lost their match at End of the Line, except for Ronin Fox and Shadow, who still had control of the Ladies' Title and one half of the Tag Team Titles respectively. Unlike Alan, Huh, and Joey, Cynric wasn't going to sit back and take his firing lightly and came out the next week to save Bryan Danielson from an attack by Nykk and the Pyro Twins. Ronin Fox stepped up and sided with the House of Lords over his own brother, leading to them facing off at Blood y Valentine. After Fox won the match, he beat Cynric down in front of their own mother at ringside and attempted to cripple his brother by dropping a guardrail on his neck. Cynric would eventually announce his retirement, but not before challenging Fox to one last match. He wanted him in a MECCA Challenge match at The MECCA Challenge IV. Fox accepted, and when they met Cynric was eventually able to make him tap out. Later in the show, Anubis beat Nykk to take away the World Title from the House of Lords and finally break their power.

Tag Team Specialist

Nykk and Fox lost the tag team belts to The Briscoes on the February 27 episode of Go Time and spent much of the rest of 2008 trying to get in position to get the titles back. They finally won the right to a rematch against the Briscoes at Summertime Showdown, but were unable to regain the belts. Afterward, they feuded with Bryan Danielson and Eddie Crowe, losing to them in a tag team encounter at Scared Stiff. Nykk also made a bid for the Toughman Title, but was unable to get past champion The Necro Butcher at No Regrets.

In December of 2008, Katie Piehl announced the Round Robin Faction War, a tournament between MECCA's five active factions that would begin with the new year and end at The MECCA Challenge V. The round robin matches would be randomized from singles to eight-man tags, and each one had elimination rules, with the surviving members scoring points for their faction. When all the teams had faced each other, the top two scoring teams would square off one more time at the MECCA Challenge with guaranteed title shots on the line while the bottom three factions would be forced to split up. The House of Lords started off strong, with Nykk and Fox surviving and scoring two points against The Consulate in a six-man tag. However, the Consulate took a commanding lead, and the House of Lords and Epsilon Epsilon Epsilon ended up facing off at Melee to break a tie for second place. EEE won the match, forcing the House of Lords to split up. They appeared on the next Go Time to celebrate their time together, but Nykk and Fox ambushed the Pyro Twins out of nowhere. Nykk stated that after a lifelong friendship with them, he and Fox were sick and tired of them and blamed them for focusing on their team rather than the group and causing them to lose in the Round Robin Faction War. Since the Pyro Twins were the current tag team champs, Nykk and Fox challenged them to a title bout at the MECCA Challenge V. Jay and Dusty accepted, but Nykk and Fox were unable to unseat them at the big event, or in the rematch at New Dawn in May. Though they lost, Nykk and Fox earned a new found respect for Jay and Dusty, and the two teams buried the hatchet after the match.

MECCA vs. ROH

In early 2009, Bryan Danielson, who had been simultaneously working for Ring of Honor for years, turned against MECCA fans, seemingly frustrated with how is MECCA career was going. It was soon revealed that he was planning to lead an invasion of MECCA from Ring of Honor by stirring up old animosity between the two companies, and it quickly gained momentum as ROH wrestlers such as Delirious and Roderick Strong joined his cause. Nykk and Fox were incensed with some of Danielson's comments and actions, but were tied up with their own business with the Pyro Twins. Nykk promised to answer Danielson's claims soon. On the May 6 episode of Go Time, ROH owner Cary Silkin appeared to clear the air about the two companies. He revealed that he was not sanctioning this invasion, and it was all a plot by Danielson to force a bidding war for his exclusive services. Nykk took the opportunity to come out with Ronin Fox and get a few things off his chest about his history with ROH. He and Fox offered to show up and wrestle at ROH's upcoming shows, and Silkin was open to it. Danielson then entered and provoked a brawl, in which Nykk accientally hit Silkin with a chair. When he came to, Silkin gave his ROH employees permission to go ahead with the invasion and to do what they had to do to finish it.

After finishing their business with the Pyro Twins, Nykk and Fox set their sights on humbling Team ROH. On the June 10 episode of Go Time, he and Fox defeated Strong and Davey Richards in tag team action. At Punked Out later in the month, ROH and MECCA held dual shows in Chicago, with an ROH event taking place during the afternoon and the MECCA pay-per-view taking place during the evening, which meant both locker rooms were in the same building. Fox faced off against Takesh i Morishima in the main event, but lost after interference from ROH World Champion Austin Aries. That prompted Nykk to get involved, which touched off a brawl between both promotions. Fox then set his sights on bringing the Toughman Title back to MECCA, as it had been won by ROH's Bryan Danielson. The two men met at Libert y or Death, but Danielson won after interference from ROH commentator Dave Prazak. However, Fox received another shot at the title and managed to win it from Danielson on the July 29 edition of Go Time. Fox and Nykkturned their attention to fielding a team of MECCA competitors to meet Team ROH in the Perimeter of Pain main event for Summert ime Showdown on August 29. They picked Eddie Crowe, as well as Robbie and Gary, two members of EEE. Danielson chose Morishima, Strong, Richards, and Eddie Edwards for Ring of Honor. The match came down to Nykk and Fox against Danielson. With Fox down on the outside, Nykk faced off against his old rival and finally managed to beat him, with an assist from Fox, sending Team ROH packing from MECCA and ending the feud.

Break Away

During the fall, Bloodlust began stalking Nykk as a result of Kavian being taken out before the Double Jeopardy Match. They finally made their move on the September 23 edition of Go Time, attacking Nykk and Fox in the ring, and injuring Nykk before their match against The Consulate. Nykk and Fox would go on to win the tag titles from the Consulate, evolving into more of a fun-loving duo than they had ever previously been by dancing for the fans before and during their matches and tricking their opponents into looking foolish. But they never took their eyes off of Bloodlust, and wanted their revenge. They faced off with the vampiric duo at Scared Stiff, but were disqualified after a chaotic match. Nykk and Fox succesfully defended the titles against the likes of the Consulate and FIST, but eventually lost the belts to Bloodlust in a Triangle Match at End of the Line. Citing that neither one of them were beaten during that match, Nykk and Fox sought a rematch, but came up short against Bloodlust in a No DQ Match at Ignition in 2010. Fox went on to enter the Six-Man Melee match at Six-Man Melee, but was eliminated by eventual winner Alan Mayse. Nykk and Fox went back to setting their sights on the tag belts, which were now held by The Invincible Outlaws. A singles match between Fox and Austin Lee on the March 31 episode of Go Time went to a double disqualification, and Katie Piehl was quick to sign a tag title match for The MECCA Challenge VI. However, Nykk and Fox were unable to regain the titles.

Nykk and Fox won a tag team match on the June 2 edition of Go Time in order to qualify for the Eight-Man Throwdown at Punked Out. Fox ended up drawing the team on the opposite side of Nykk, but Fox's team lost after he and Ares had some miscommunication. They had an altercation backstage, which touched off a feud between the two. They battled throughout the summer, but Ares got one over on Fox at Su mmertime Showdown after cheating to win. Fox sought a rematch and received a Lumberjack Match at At Your Own Risk the next month, which he won. However, a new threat to MECCA had emerged in the form of Jimmy Jacobs and The Absence of Light. He and Nykk faced off against Jacobs and his new recruit Dusty Schneble on September 29, but were bludgeoned by the Absence of Light after the match. This touched off a feud which saw Jacobs cost Fox a shot at the Toughman Title, and a match was made between them for Scared Stiff. However, during a brawl with the Absence of Light three days beforehand on Go Time, Fox broke his hand and had to pull out of the match. He appeared on the pay-per-view to announce his replacement, Jay Crowe, who Jacobs and Schneble had put out of action back at Summertime Showdown.

Fox made his return in December at End of the Line during the Six-Man War between the Absence of Light and Nykk, Jay, and The Wild Wolf. He chased Jacobs out of the arena, which led to Nykk's team winning the match. Jacobs had won the World Title by then, and Fox goaded him into putting it on the line on the next Go Time. However, due to untimely interference by Jay, Fox was disqualified. With Jay coming off a no-contest against Jacobs several weeks earlier in a title match, both men felt they had claim to a title shot and that put strain on their friendship. Katie Piehl made a Triangle Match for Ignition so they could both get a title shot, but Jacobs managed to retain. The feud continued on the next Go Time when Jacobs announced that the MECCA World Championship would remain his and he would no longer defend the belt, and had a contract that stated he could do this. Fox was among the former World Champions who tried to take Jacobs down, but to no avail. Soon after, Katie Piehl announced the Trios Tag League, which would see its final round at The MECCA Challenge VII, where the members of the winning team would each get a title shot of their choice. For their partner, Fox and Jay selected Gran Akuma, who had been impressing them recently with his singles outings. They defeated Nykk and Deep Impact in the first round, and then defeated Ryan Andrews and the Invincible Outlaws at Kick Start in the semi-finals. The other team to make it through to the finals was the Absence of Light contingent of Dusty Schneble, Torea, and Dreggs . They met at the MECCA Challenge, but the Absence of Light came out victorious when Akuma's former partner Icarus attacked him and cost him the fall. Shortly thereafter, Fox had to take a couple of months off due to injuries.

Fox returned on the July 6 episode of Go Time. He and Jay went for the tag titles against High Def, but were unsuccessful when Jimmy Rave interefered. It came out that it was The UK Wrecking Crew who had hired him to make sure High Def retained the titles so they could win them. Fox and Jay vowed payback, but had other pressing matters as everything was on the line in the feud against the Absence of Light. A Perimeter of Pain match was set for Su mmertime Showdown. The World Champion Jamie Chan was made captain of MECCA's team and recruited Fox, along with Eddie Crowe, the Wild Wolf, and Gran Akuma. Fox was eliminated during the match, but Jamie Chan stood tall in the end, running Jacobs and Katie Piehl out of MECCA for good.

Fox was now free to focus on the UK Wrecking Crew, along with his partner Jay Crowe. The teams went to a double count-out on September 7, and the UKWC won the rematch on September 21. The two teams joined Dusty Schneble in Torea in challenging High Def for the tag titles in a 30-minute Iron Team Match at At Your Own Risk. Their team pulled into the lead at one point, but Fox lost his temper and earned a disqualification, docking them a point and allowing High Def to pull ahead and eventually retain. Disgusted, Jay walked out on Fox after the match and the two went their separate ways. Fox concentrated on winning the World Title once again, and got back on the Contender Star. He earned a shot at the new champion, the man he won the title from the first time, Eddie Crowe, who was now managed by his best friend Nykk. Fox played mind games with Eddie, attempting to convince him that he and Nykk were taking him for a ride just like back in 2007. It seemed to be working, but during their title match at Scared Stiff, Nykk helped Eddie pin Fox to retain, squashing any chance that Fox's claims were true. On the next Go Time, Fox fell victim to an attack by Upstarts International, who were upset at being unable to win the tag titles at the pay-per-view. Fox teamed with High Def to defeat them in a six-man tag at No Regrets. On the same night, Jay Crowe and Dusty Schneble reunited as the Pyro Twins. On the next Go Time, Fox confronted Jay about joining back up with Dusty and abandoning their team, but was attacked by the duo. Fox teamed with Jamie Chan on December 7 against the Pyro Twins, but were unable to win. Fox wasn't finished with them, and challenged Jay to a one on one match at End of the Line, which he won. He also traded victories with Dusty on subsequent episodes of Rundown.
