Professional wrestling career
Early career
Andrews began training in 2005 at the MECCA Training Camp, run by his cousin Nykk, as well as Ronin Fox. He cut his teeth in various independent promotions around the Midwest and Northeast for the next two years, working toward gaining a full time spot in Nykk's promotion, MECCA.
Modern Establishment of Competitive Combat Arts (2007-present)
The Wrestling Fraternity
Andrews debuted on the September 14, 2007, episode of Rundown with a loss against Cynric in singles action. He would compete on the show throughout the next couple of months, paying his dues and suffering losses to talent like The Human Tornado and Jamie Chan. He eventually formed a team with Robbie Reno, and he made his Go Time debut on the December 5 episode, teaming with Reno to lose to Huh and Joey Sprinklers.
In early 2008, Andrews was having a crisis about how to juggle his wrestling career with the fact that he was still in college. In order to loosen him up, Reno suggested a good old fashioned frat party. They then took it a step further and decided to form their own wrestling fraternity, rushing new members. Their new group debuted on March 5, interrupting a match and introducing themselves as Epsilon Epsilon Epsilon, complete with sorority sisters and beer kegs. Robbie and Ryan dropped their last names and introduced new frat brothers Omar, Gary, and Cubby. They then attacked Tristan Lee before being run off by his brother Austin. All five men competed in the Battlebrawl match at The MECCA Challenge IV, but none of them were able to win. They appeared later in the night, taking over the ring and attempting to get a party started before being run off by The Briscoes.
During the summer, Huh decided that he wanted to be a part of EEE, who regarded him as a joke behind his back. Nonetheless, they took him on as a pledge and made him go through Hell Month, doing demeaning and abusive tasks like having to wash a locker room they had just urinated in with a toothbrush, or being kicked and beaten down while he carried their bags and being forced to compete against Ryan and Gary in a Handicap match at Punked Out. But Huh balked when it came to drinking a cup of raw sewage from one of their kegs. EEE beat him down before he was rescued by The Lee Brothers. Ryan teamed with Robbie to face The Briscoes for the MECCA World Tag Team Championship at Liberty or Death, but were unsuccessful. With Robbie in a feud with Huh, Ryan shifted to teaming with Gary, and they competed in a four-way TLC match at Summertime Showdown. They won with some help from Cubby, and earned a shot at the tag titles in the process. At At Your Own Risk against the Briscoes. They won the belts after some cheap tactics, and fended off teams such as Irish Airborne and The Wild Wolf and Tristan Lee before losing the titles to the team of Bryan Danielson and Eddie Crowe a month later.
With the number of factions rising in late 2008, EEE was ready to stake their claim at the top. On December 3, they saved The Necro Butcher and Irish Airborne from an attack by The House of Lords and The Consulate, putting them in the fans' good graces. Huh also came back into the mix with his own faction, Huh's Hot Dogs. In response to this, Katie Piehl instituted the Round Robin Faction War, where the factions would face one another in elimination tag matches with a random number of participants. Every survivor meant a point for the faction, and the two top scoring factions at the end would go on to The MECCA Challenge V for one more match, with the winning side's members all getting a guaranteed title shot of their choice. The three lowest scoring factions, however, would be forced to split up. EEE lost their first match in the tournament to Huh's Hot Dogs, but got on the board with a win over the Consulate, scoring two points. They scored another two points on March 18 when Robbie and Ryan survived a six-man tag against Luchacore. This put them even with the House of Lords, who had also scored four points, and were the only matchup left in the tournament. The two factions met in an eight-man elimination tag at Melee, where Ryan teamed with Robbie, Omar, and Gary against Nykk, Ronin Fox, and The Pyro Twins. Gary was the sole survivor, making EEE one of the top scoring factions, along with the Consulate. Robbie, Ryan, Gary, Omar, and Cubby teamed against Alan Mayse, Jamie Chan, Yoshiaki Yago, the Wild Wolf and Prince Nana at the MECCA Challenge V, and the match came down to Robbie and Nana. The Consulate tried to interfere, but were taken out by EEE as well as their group's personal superhero Captain Epsilon. That allowed Robbie to pin Nana and win the Round Robin Faction War.
Change in Attitude
As prominent members of the MECCA roster, EEE got pulled into the war against Team ROH in the spring. Ryan teamed with Robbie and Gary in a six-man tag against Bryan Danielson, Delirious and Takeshi Morishima at New Dawn, but lost. Morishima would deal them another blow when he defeating Ryan in singles competition, injuring his neck and putting him out of action. During his absence, Cubby would turn on Robbie and Gary, and Omar would quit the company. Robbie and Gary decided the best thing to do was put EEE to rest and concentrate on their own individual careers. Andrews made his return to the ring at End of the Line in December as part of a dream partner tag match. He teamed with Austin Lee against his former frat brother Robbie and Tristan Lee, winning the match when he pinned Reno. Andrews would explain over the next couple of weeks that he was upset over Robbie and Gary dissolving EEE without his consent and all the royalty checks that went with it.
Austin and Ryan would have a falling out over the next few weeks, and a Triangle match was signed for Ignition. This turned out to be a ruse, as Andrews and Lee double teamed Reno during the match. However, Andrews would eventually turn on his ally and pin him to win the bout. Reno would finally get his one on one shot at Andrews at Six-Man Melee, but Andrews won after utilizing a chair. The rematch took place at Kick Start, with Ryan once again trying to use a chair. But it backfired this time, and Reno scored the pin only to be laid out after the match. Since neither man was adhering to the rules, Katie Piehl booked them in the MECCA Challenge match at The MECCA Challenge VI with revised rules, allowing the use of weapons that would be attached to four poles at every ring post. Andrews would go on to win the match, putting an end to their feud.
Andrews would finally cash in the title shot he won at the MECCA Challenge V on March 17, taking a title match against World Champion Jamie Chan. Andrews was disqualified after interference from the Consulate, and after the MECCA Challenge VI would seek a rematch. He would pin Chan in a tag team match on April 28, and then earned his way onto the Contender Star. He requested a No DQ match against Chan this time for New Dawn, and the challenge was accepted, but Chan hurt himself before the encounter, putting the main event in doubt. Per his agreement with MECCA authority Katie Piehl, if Chan could not compete he would have to forfeit the title to Andrews. Chan made it to New Dawn, but Andrews coerced Alan Mayse into attacking him backstage to try and prevent him from making it out to the ring. Mayse failed, and Chan went on to beat Andrews and retain his title. Andrews then developed an issue with Eddie Crowe and met him at Punked Out, where he got a cheap win. He and Eddie would feud throughout the summer, and Andrews teamed with Ares at Never Say Die to defeat their respective rivals Eddie Crowe and Ronin Fox in tag team action. Andrews would lose a singles rematch to Eddie at Summertime Showdown but would rebound on the September 3 episode of Rundown, defeating Davey Richards for the MECCA Toughman Championship.
Andrews would immediately have to prove that he was deserving of the toughman moniker by defending the belt in a Four Corners match at At Your Own Risk, which he did successfully. He also finally got a win over his rival Jamie Chan in a title defense. He was set to go for double gold against his cousin Nykk, who was the World Champion, at No Regrets, but Nykk lost the World Title before the event and Andrews had to put his own belt on the line. Nevertheless, he scored a big win over Nykk after taking some shortcuts. Andrews continued to defend the title throughout the winter, but would lose it to Marcus Kavian at Six-Man Melee in February. Andrews regained the title in a rematch on the March 2 episode of Go Time, but lost it to Kavian once again on the March 19 episode of Rundown. Andrews would also compete in the Trios Tag League tournament, teaming with The Invincible Outlaws to beat Kavian, Jamie Chan, and the Wild Wolf in the first round. But they were eliminated in the semi-finals at Kick Start, losing to Ronin Fox, Jay Crowe, and Gran Akuma. Andrews would meet Kavian for the Toughman Title one more time in a Falls Count Anywhere match at The MECCA Challenge VII, but lost.
Andrews took a brief break from the ring to regroup, and came back to qualify for Eight-Man Throwdown at Punked Out. Andrews made it all the way to the end, eliminating the Wild Wolf in the four-way finals to win the tournament. This granted him a title shot at Summertime Showdown, but his match with World Champion Jamie Chan was moved up to Never Say Die due to the Perimeter of Pain match, featuring Chan, being booked for Summertime Showdown. Chan defeated Andrews at Never Say Die, though Andrews's hand was underneath the bottom rope during the pinfall, out of the sight of the referee. Andrews also made an enemy of Anubis earlier in the night, getting into an altercation with him backstage. Both men were after Chan's title, and a match between them was booked for the August 10 episode of Go Time. Andrews won after blatantly cheating, and Katie Piehl made the decision to make the next week's title match a Triangle match. Andrews cost Anubis certain victory with the use of a chair during the match, but then tapped out to Chan when he tried to capitalize. Anubis was furious, and got a rematch with Andrews at Summertime Showdown, which Andrews once again won when he hit Anubis with a low blow.
Anubis continued to hound Andrews, and got him in the ring once again at At Your Own Risk. Anubis finally got his win, but Andrews attacked him after the match and went after his groin once again, injuring it with a chair and sending Anubis to the hospital. Anubis came after Andrews upon his return, and Andrews volunteered for the Stiff Strike Challenge at Scared Stiff in an attempt to avoid facing him, and enlisted his former frat brother Danny Dreggs, convincing him to take the last spot in the match to shut Anubis out. However, during a tag match on October 26, Anubis interfered and ran off Andrews. He beat up Dreggs until he agreed to relinquish his spot in the Stiff Strike Challenge, and Anubis took the vacant spot. During the match on October 29, Andrews was able to neutralize Anubis outside the ring and then go on to win, further infuriating Anubis. He immediately challenged Andrews to settle their feud in a Steel Cage Match at No Regrets. The match was made, and on November 16, Andrews and Jimmy Rave won the Tag Team Championship from High Def. Despite the success, Andrews lost the Steel Cage Match at No Regrets after Anubis splashed him from the top of the cage. Andrews turned his focus to his team with Jimmy Rave, now calling themselves The Peacemakers due to their nicknames, "Crackshot" and "The Gunslinger." They defeated High Def in a rematch at End of the Line on December 17.
Gunning Down the Competition
Rave and Andrews pursued their own singles careers in addition to being the World Tag Team Champions. Rave won the MECCA Toughman Championship from Drake Younger, making him a double champion, while Andrews also pursued the MECCA World Championship. As a team, they continued to dominate by defeating High Def in a rematch at End of the Line. But on February 1 on Go Time: Championship Edition, due to being the highest ranked team the previous year, High Def received one more rematch and defeated the Peacemakers for the belts. Their reign was short-lived, however, as the Peacemakers won the titles back at Six-Man Melee to end the rivalry. They retained the titles against teams like The Lee Brothers and The Near Future, but lost them to the team of Ronin Fox and Amazing Red at New Dawn. They began to pursue the World Championship after that, with Rave unsuccessfully challenging Austin Lee on the May 30 edition of Go Time. Andrews was able to earn a title shot against Lee as well in the coming weeks, but he too was unsuccessful at Punked Out. The Peacemakers continued to work together in the tag team division, but both entered The Legacy Tournament announced shortly thereafter to be the first man to hold the MECCA Legacy Championship. Andrews defeated Kory Chavis in his first round, while Rave defeated Amazing Red. Due to how the brackets were organized, this meant they would face one another in the quarter-finals. Rave won the match by disqualification after things became too heated, but they made up shortly after. Rave went on to the semi-finals, but lost to eventual tournament winner Alex Shelley. A couple of months later, Andrews was able to earn another shot at the World Title, this time against Ronin Fox, at At Your Own Risk in a Wheel of Unfortunate Events Match. Rave tried to help him, but Fox was still able to turn the tables on the Peacemakers and defeat Andrews.
The Peacemakers continued trying to work their way back up the tag team rankings over the next several months. They lost a title match to the Lee Brothers at End of the Line, and both men competed in the Six-Man Melee Match at Six-Man Melee. At The MECCA Challenge IX, they made it until the end of a 10-team battle royale, but were once again beaten by the Lees. On the next episode of Go Time, Rave's old rival Drake Younger defeated Andrews, only for Rave to help Andrews beat him down. Ronin Fox made the save, and the two sides feuded until New Dawn, when the Peacemakers defeated Fox and Younger. The Peacemakers then got into it with The Young Bucks, who had recently arrived in MECCA. The Bucks scored an upset over the veterans at Punked Out, but the Peacemakers evened the score a couple of weeks later on Go Time. Both teams were put in a four-way TLC Match at Summertime Showdown with the tag titles on the line, along with The Pyro Twins and Aaron Glover and Terrence Bolton. Glover and Bolton ended up retaining the titles, but the Peacemakers blamed the Young Bucks for their loss. They attacked the Young Bucks a few weeks later, setting up a match for At Your Own Risk, which the Peacemakers won. That was enough to get them the next title shot against Glover and Bolton at Scared Stiff. Though they had to cheat, they were finally able to beat the title holders and again become World Tag Team Champions. They only held the title for about two months, however, losing them to the team of Brian Kendrick and Alex Shelley.
Anything But Peace
After failing to regain the tag belts, the Peacemakers went into a bit of a slump. At Six-Man Melee, Rave suffered a broken nose and was out of action for a month. During this time, Andrews got a taste of being on his own and began to consider re-entering the singles division to make another run at being a star by himself. He still teamed up with Rave and Naomi Leach to compete on The MECCA Challenge X countdown show, but they lost to the team of Kenny Omega, Amazing Red, and Serena Deeb in a mixed tag match. Rave laid into Andrews, blaming him for the loss on the next episode of Go Time, and walked out on him. The Peacemakers seemingly were going their separate ways, and Andrews took the opportunity to take on some of the best competitors MECCA had to offer, impressing both fans and management.
With his Circle of Trust having lost prominence in MECCA within the last six months, Ryan's cousin Nykk then came calling, offering Andrews a spot in his faction with Eddie Crowe and Gary Kopp. Andrews was reluctant, but gave it a chance, allowing his cousin to manage him. He qualified for the Eight-Man Throwdown at Punked Out. Crowe and Andrews ended up on the same side, and their team won the random eight-man tag. But in the Four Way Dance that followed, the Circle of Trust got in the way and Andrews ended up being eliminated. On the next episode of Go Time, he officially turned down Nykk's offer to join the group. Nykk flew into a rage, and he, Crowe, and Kopp beat down Andrews, putting him out of action with a shoulder injury. Two weeks later, Jimmy Rave sought out the Circle of Trust, praising them for what they did and made a bid to become the newest member of the faction. Nykk said he would think about it, but Rave turned on him and cleared the ring of all three men, expressing his support for Andrews, who had been like a brother to him for three years. Rave met Kopp at Never Say Die and defeated him, but was attacked after the match. Andrews returned and made the save, and he and Rave embraced in the middle of the ring. Andrews developed an issue with Eddie Crowe in particular over the next few weeks. The Peacemakers faced the Circle of Trust at Summertime Showdown, but lost after interference from Nykk and the use of a chair.
Andrews then went after Crowe and the World Title, earning his way into the Four Corners Ladder Match at At Your Own Risk, but neither man won the title when champion Drake Younger retained. However, earlier in the night, Rave defeated Kopp in a Submission Match. Rave continued to back up Andrews in his war against the Circle of Trust, and they teamed to get their win back from Summertime Showdown, defeating the Circle of Trust on the October 22 episode of Go Time. But when Andrews faced Crowe one on one at Scared Stiff three days later, Crowe once again utilized interference and a steel chair to get the win. Due to their victory on Go Time, the Peacemakers were then given a tag title shot against new champions Oi4K on the next Go Time, but were unsuccessful when Crowe interfered again. There was nothing for Ryan to do but challenge him to a Steel Cage Match at No Regrets on Thanksgiving weekend. After a brutal and bloody match, Andrews emerged victorious and put his feud against the Circle of Trust to rest.
Afterward, Andrews was handpicked by MECCA authority Cynric to be in the main event of End of the Line, the Perimeter of Pain. Andrews teamed with Brandon Blade, Brian Kendrick, Trent Baretta, and team captain Aaron Glover to take on his old rival Marcus Kavian, Terrence Bolton, Fenris, Alex Shelley, and The Wild Wolf. Andrews was eliminated by Kavian during the match, but his team went on to victory in the end.
