Obviously it is impossible to please everyone and we live in a world permeated with fear. The internet is a wide open place and, from what I have seen, there certainly seems to be no shortage of perverts and morons in cyberspace. There are , unfortunately, those who do attempt to seduce young people using the net as a tool. I am, most emphatically, NOT one of them.
I am personally - and vehemently - NOT out to harm anyone or to subvert our youth. If you think I am then I feel sorry for you. Sheesh! I am a parent myself and I care about our children. Our children, now - as ever, are our future. I can relate as both parent and teacher to valid concerns about the content to which our children are exposed on the WWW. However, I suspect that a pious few of you may have somehow acquired the mentality of those hypocrites who condemned Socrates and crucified the (innocent) messiah two thousand years ago.
On the other hand, I know what they say about opinions and, as Dennis Miller says, I could be wrong.
It is said that we tend to find what we seek, whether consciously or not. My philosophy is to seek the Truth and beauty (and sometimes ... irony) in all things. I promote the free exchange of ideas and encourage people to THINK. Personally, I immensely dislike profanity and pornography and will have none of it on my site - but I hope satire still has a place in this world.
Also, what you find to be phunny, I may find offensive, and vice versa. I take those considerations to heart and I respectfully request my audience does likewise. In my humble opinion, our Creator gave us brains to use. Is that just an interesting but unproven theory ... or is it the Truth? Think about it :o)
It is probably true as well though that any self-respecting religious moralist will find a thing or two in this site with which to find fault. After all, I am a spiritual being in a religious world. There may indeed be a price to be paid for poking the executioner in the eye while standing on the gallows, eh?
I like what Louis Nizer said about looking where the other three fingers are pointing whenever pointing a finger at someone else ... and "Judge not lest ye be judged" rings true as well. If you feel you must pass judgment though, please take the time to read through my entire site before you form your opinion. I firmly believe there is ample redeeming social value to be found here.
For my part I forgive anyone who passes judgment upon me, for I know that it is only our Creator who has that right in Truth. We are each endowed with free will, but how we use it is up to us. The greater part of adulthood consists of the acceptance of responsibility for our actions. I try not to judge others because I know it is not my place. Any judgment I make of another is necessarily but a flawed perception. Only our Creator can see us clearly, so I choose to defer to His judgment.
In the final analysis, the freedom for one to express his (or her) opinions derives primarily from the granting of the same right to others. You are therefore free to think and act as you choose, and thus am I set free. Am I right ... or am I right?
As a closing thought, I offer this (which is also found in my lobby). The real Secret of Life is coming to accept but these two postulates: Love always prevails because it has no opposite. Fear always deceives for it has no reality.
