Hello there!
Pretty scary lookin' mug eh?
I snapped this pix last fall on my sister Leslie's 'puter.
My real name is Thom, but I use the nickname Philo to remind me of my hero ... Philo of Alexandria.
Philo was a prolific writer, philosopher, and a great spiritual leader.
He was a student of the teachings of Socrates and Plato, and a member of the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem 2000 years ago.
What a time to be alive that must have been (Philo ponders) !
Philo Judaeus, also Philo of Alexandria (20? BC-AD 50), Jewish-Hellenistic philosopher. Although he was considered the greatest Jewish philosopher of his age, he appropriated so completely the doctrines of Greek philosophy that he must be considered also a Greek philosopher who combined the elements borrowed from various sources into an original unity. Philo was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and received a thorough education in the Old Testament and in Greek literature and philosophy. Philo maintained that the deepest and most significant understanding of the Pentateuch (first five books of the Old Testament) could be reached through an allegorical interpretation of the text. He conceived of God as a being so exalted above the world that an intermediate class of beings is required to establish contact between him and the world. These intermediate powers are known as the Logos. All rights reserved. |
Meet My Sister Leslie!
| This is my beautiful sister Leslie. She lives near here (in Bowling Green) with her Engineer hubby Will (schmart pheller) and squirrel chasing SuperDog Jake (phart schmeller). Leslie is a Vice-President of Finance (high phalootin' beancounter) for Sky Financial Group. Will is the Founder and CEO of Direct Digital Corporation, an excellent chef, and an aspiring guitar player. The latest additions to their phamily are a beautiful gray calico cat named Sasha ... and a cute (as yet un-named) black & white kitten - she's so sweet !!! |

This picture was taken Thanksgiving 1998 down in the heart of New Orleans.
Julie lives in La Place, LA with her cajun hubby Bruce and my favorite nephew Nicholas.
Bruce works for Marathon Oil Company and Julie is a CPA (phancy title for beancounter).
Marc lives in Houston, TX with his lovely wife Kathy.
My lovable Dad used to live live here in town ... he had a condo just a stone's throw away.
He just passed away last December and I really mis him - he had such a great sense of humor!
He was a classic car buff and was retired from the Marathon Pipe Line Company.
Dad had great taste in cars.

Missing from this photo is my Mom who passed away in 1998 on my birthday.
She loved to collect seahorses and ... later ... kaleidoscopes.
She is much missed by her family and many Bridge and Mah Jong playing friends.

JT is also known as WhiteKnight !!!
