In a 28-7 victory in a non-league game over neighboring Malvern, the Mohawk scores were produced by Offenberger, Degraffinreed, and McNeal.
In their first league test, the Mohawks were swamped 45-6 by Greentown, which was to emerge as the division champion. In the next game, the Mohawks recorded their first league victory by defeating marlboro 7-6.
The next game, a league victory over Brewster 41-20, was marked by Frank Degraffireed's 4 touchdown outburst and Bill Richardson's first touchdown.
Our next game privided a great deal of satisfaction as we defeated East Canton 19-12 in a game which is annually one of our most intense rivalries. Bill Richardson had a very good day as he marked up 2 TD's.
The Mohawks furnished the opposition for East Sparta on their Homecoming Day, and in very cold weather, eked out a 21-20 victory over the Spartans. The game marked a successful conclusion to the nearest rivalries: Malvern, East Canton, and East Sparta.
In the final game of the season (and the final football game for Waynesburg High) the Mohawks were defeated by Uniontown 6-0 in a game played at Louisville.
In a regular schedule of eight games, the Mohawks had posted a commendable 5-3 record.
