Pfc. James S. Baum, 24, was killed in France Sept. 17, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Baum of RD 1, Waynesburg, were informed last Tuesday.

A graduate of Waynesburg Hgh school and a former employe of the Ohio Power Co., Pfc. Baum had been in the service since July 22, 1942. He arrived overseas last July. He was a member of Centenary Chhapel Methodist church.

Surviving, in including his parents are three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Mary Jane Lewton of Los Angeles, Miss Elizabeth Baum of the home, and Miss Catherine Baum and Paul A. Baum both of Canton, and a grandmother, Mrs. Emma Sponseller of Canton.
