KILLED IN ACTION

Pfc. Charles B. Slutz Jr., previously listed as missing in action on July 25 while serving with an infantry unit in France was killed, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Slutz have been notified by the war department.

Pfc. Slutz (Junior) who was 19, recieved his basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. and was later stationed at Louisiana, Camp Breckenridge, Ky., and Fort George Meade, Md., arriving overseas the first of July.

Junior recieved seven different medals during his training and also recieved a good conduct medal.

He was a graduate of Waynesburg High school, active in sports and a former employe of The Timken Roller Bearing Co.

Besides his parents he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Boley of Waynesburg, Mrs. Pearl Gregory and Mrs. Dorothy Shret of Canton and Mrs. Esther Reed of E. Canton

Memorial services will be held Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock in Lutheran church.
