How Dog Got His Name
When God had made the Earth and sky, the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals and all the birds and bees.
And when His work was finished not one was quite the same,
He said, "I'll walk the Earth of mine, and give each one a name."
And so He traveled land and sea and everywhere He went,
A little creature followed Him, until it's strength was spent.
When all were named upon the Earth and in the sky and sea,
The little creature said,"Dear Lord, there's not one left for me."
The Father smiled and softly said, "I've left you till the end,
I've turned my name from back to front, and called you DOG, my friend."

You guessed it....I'm Bailey.

(Mom calls me Wild Child, Bay, Sweetheart, and Pretty Girl --heehee)

I am a yellow lab although my fur has a reddish color to it. I am Toby's little sister. I love to play with toys. Here is a picture of Toby and I. I won't let him have the toy. (haha)

Bailey's Story

OK...here is my story. I came to live with Mommy, Daddy, and Toby when I was seven months old. It started out that I was only going to stay with them for 3 months because my owners couldn't have me in an apartment. Mommy didn't want me to stay. She knew that they would fall in love with me and want to keep me. So she told my owners that I could stay for three months (that way I wouldn't have to go to the pound!). After three months they had to come get me or they couldn't have me back. Well, three months came and three months went.....and my owners didn't come for me. One year later, they called and said they wanted me to go home. Mommy cried. Daddy cried. Mommy had a hard time with me leaving....and there was a big arguement with the other owners about it. AND no one asked me but I didn't want to leave...I had a mommy and a daddy and brother Toby and Uncle Bill and Aunt Kris (the neighbors next door). It took awhile, but Mommy won and got to keep me...she bought the other owners a chocolate lab named Petie.

I admit...when I went to live with Mommy and Daddy, I was a wild girl. I liked to run....and run. I would run across the street to see the people over there, or down the street to see a dog, or chase a bunny or a kittie. I had no discipline. Even my vet said that he had never seen such a wild, nosey dog before. That was me though... nosey, curious, and a puppy. That changed though because if I ran from the yard, boy did I get into trouble and had to spend time inside the fence. It took until I was a little over a year oldfor me to settle down...and at two years, I lost my wild child name...lol. I still like to run through the house with toys though. I am full of energy and love to play. I have strong hunter instincts, but I don't hunt. My main purpose is to live here spoiled rotten and happy!!!
