The Return of Team Rocket Two - Part Three

By Pika-chan

*It's hard to write Team R when I'm on a Sailormoon kick but they're always funny so I keep at it.*

Chapter Five - Picnic?

James sat across a table from his older self, studying a handful of cards. "Got any Bulbasaurs?" He asked. "Go Pokemon." Future James sighed. "Got any Charmanders?" Jesse sat on the sofa in the living room with her older incarnation sipping tea and chatting. "Limes? I never would have thought. I've been using lemon to close the pores but it doesn't seem to be working on the skin the same way as it does the mouth, you know?" "I'd start using the limes." Future Jesse said certainly. "I mean 'I' would get a major benefit!" Both of them laughed.

Ryer and Nina slouched against each other, back to back, in the middle of the living room rug, playing Pokemon on their gameboys, attached by a long black cord. As the two of them battled it out Ruka ran back the video tape she had made of her soap opera.

"Oh just kiss her!" She pleaded with the cutest of the male characters. "You know you love her Michael, who cares she's married, KISS HER!"

"Ruka be quiet, I'm trying to play Pokemon!" Ryer yelled, deadlocked with Nina. "Playing?!" Nina shouted insanely. "This is way past playing pal! I'm gonna bust your butt like a Jello mold!!!" Suddenly a flash of light came from Nina's screen. Her jaw dropped. "Actually my Charmander just incinerated 'your' butt Nina." Ryer laughed.

"Shut Up!" Ruka screamed, waving at them ferociously. "He's gonna kiss her!" "He is not." Katie, said sprawling herself backward over the couch. "He never kisses her." "Who?" the older Jesse asked. "Mike an' Carrie." "Oh for cryin' out loud!" Future Jesse shouted. "They've been dragging this out forever! Kill off Sami and Austin and get it over with already!"

"He still hasn't kissed her?" Future James asked as he put the cards away in a box in the living room. "No, he has not kissed her." his wife groaned. "This thing is so stupid Ruka. Why do you tape this?" Katie said. "Don't look at me like that. You tape every episode of Star Trek." Ruka said. James walked into the living room and sat down next to Jesse. "I'm hungry." He complained. "When's lunch?" His older incarnation turned to face him. "I'm sort of hungry myself." "Me too." Ruka said. "The three of you, really." Future Jesse sighed. "Always thinking with your stomachs. Well If you're so hungry we might as well have a picnic."

"What a lovely spot." Jesse said, sitting down with the rest of the group on the blanket. Meowth and Future Meowth had left the Time Machine back at the apartment to dry some more while they had their picnic. The leaves in the tree overhead swayed gently in the soft breeze. Ruka untied the ponytail in her hair, letting the shoudler length blueish purple locks fall around her face. Future James sat up against the tree with his wife in his arms. Ryer passed around a bunch of sandwiches and everyone fell into a pleasant discussion as they ate.

"Is it really hard running a gym?" James asked his older self. "Well once you get into a routine it's not that bad." Future James said, around a mouthful of turkey and mayonnaise. "But I have to admit, there are some hectic days." "We couldn't tell you apart?" Jesse giggled as Ruka relayed a rather amusing story about her and Ryer when they were little. "Oh you were hopeless." Ruka laughed, cuddling her Eevee in her arms. "You see me and Ryer's hair was just this funny blonde colour till we were about three so unless we spoke or you checked the colour of our eyes it was indentical city. And if Dad doesn't have his glasses he still mistakes me for Ryer!"

"I don't need the glasses all the time." Future James said indignantly. "Yeah. He only needs em' to see." Future Meowth muttered.

Chapter Six - Accepted

The picnic had been in progress for an hour or so when three young girls came up to the blanket... "Katie!" Kimmi called, waving her hand in the air. The other three quads were racing toward the picnicers. Kimmi's Vulpix raced beside her. As the girls reached their destination it was very plain to Jesse and James that the quads really were identical. Each of them looked exactly the same. Pink hair tied in loops, big blue eyes and wearing identical outfits. Brown pants, white shirts and green vests. "You won't believe it Katie!" Kimmi shrieked. "We made the finals! We're in the top 100!" "Top 100 of what?" James asked. "The Pokemon Expedition Finals." Ryer explained, as Kimmi tore open an envelope to show her sister the forms inside. Katie began to scream. "It was sponsored by the top Officials of the Pokemon Leauge. Judges are narrowing down a battling competition of thousands to a top one hundred that will be narrowed down again to seven people. The final seven get to go on a Expedition to discover new Pokemon in the Outer Territories. Only the best trainers will get to go." "We entered and we did okay but we haven't gotten any letters yet." Ruka sighed.

"They've been packed for six months and they don't even know if they're going yet." Future James hissed to the younger Team Rocket. "Oh yeah." Kitty said, turning from her sisters who were jumping up and down and screaming 'We're in! We're in!'. She dug into her pocket and passed an envelope to Ruka. "The mailman left this at our house by mistake. It's addressed to you and Ry." "For us?" Ryer asked. Both of the twins attacked the letter as Nina groaned "Why don't I get any mail? Especially not mail from BRIAN!" Ruka got to the letter first. Her eyes scanned over the words until she found what she was looking for. The word, 'Congratulations!' "We're in!" She screamed, flinging her hands in the air. She hit Ryer in the nose.

"Ow! Ruk-chan, that hurt!" Ryer screamed in reply. "Wait a sec. Did you say that we're in?" "Yes!" Ruka yelled. "Don't you listen?" "Not when I'm being banged in the nose." Ryer grumbled. "I'LL BANG YOU IN THE NOSE!!!!" Ruka screamed, picking up a giant mallet. "Hey!" Mew yelled. "Don't kill him Ruka. Then you won't have a partner for the Pokemon Expedition finals." Ruka dropped her mallet. "Good point." She leapt at her brother, who was still nursing his smashed nose, and wrapped her arms around his torso.

"We're in the finals!" She squealed. "Augh!" Ryer yelled. "Ruk-chan, my ribs! You're hurting me!" "Ruka, take it easy on your brother." Future Jesse scolded. "You know he still hasn't totally recovered from the time you got accepted for the first battles." As all the girls all began shreiking and yelling and celebrating Ryer fell into Jesse's lap with a moan. "I'm gonna die living with her." He sighed. James and his Future incarnation grinned. "I know exactly what you mean." They said in unison. Both Jesse's slugged them.

Chapter Eight - We Gotta Go Back?

Jesse, James, their older selves, Ruka, Ryer and Nina returned to the apartment. Katie had gone home with her sisters. Ruka and Ryer were still on a virtual sugar high at getting into the expedition top one hundred. "Go Rocket! Go Rocket!" they yelled in unison, bouncing into the apartment. As the twins practically knocked themselves unconsious against the ceiling Mew, Meowth and Future Meowth went to go check on the Time Machine. The older Team Rocket was discussing where their younger incarnations could sleep for the night when the two Pokemon interrupted them.

"We have bad news." Meowth said. "The Time Machine is dry." "We have to go home?" James moaned. "You can't stay here much longer or you're going to disrupt the time line." Future Meowth sighed "I guess you're right." Jesse sighed "You're going?" Ruka moaned. "But we like you even better than Mom and Dad!" "Hey!" Future Jesse exclaimed. "We ARE them!" "But they're cooler cause their our age." Ruka said, sniffing. "Hey, I can act seventeen!" Future James. "Well, I would but ever since I slipped that disc..." "We really should go." Jesse said, stroking the side of Ruka's face. "And if you ever want to talk to us we're right over there." She pointed to her future incarnation. Ruka sighed. "If you must.. but I wish you'd stay long enough to help me find my Ditto." "Hey! I almost forgot that you lost it!" Ryer said. "You didn't loose your Ditto Ruka." Mew said. "You told me to hold onto it when you went swimming at the lake yesterday. You never asked for it back. I've still got it." "WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING!!!!!!!!" Ruka screamed, grabbing her mallet and towering over the cat Pokemon.

"I thought you wanted to spend some time with Jesse and James again! Please don't hurt me!" Mew wailed. Ruka dropped her mallet. "Ah well. Just give it back to me now okay." Mew tossed Ruka the Pokeball.

Team Rocket gathered around the time machine, pausing before they touched the tin can to go home. "Good luck at your finals." James said. "Yeah. I'm sure you'll get picked." Jesse said quietly. Meowth purred something in Pokemon to Mew. Their future incarnations all smiled. "See you soon!" Future Jesse called as Team R dissapeared...but not for long.

Author's Notes-

I did it! It's finished! Hope you enjoyed it! Just so everyone knows I did not invent the Pokemon Expedition. That is an original idea by a good friend of mine who's Pokemon fanfic is upcoming. It involves Ruka, Ryer and a few other people too so you can look foreward to seeing that on the net. Anyway, that's the end.
