Joey: From a Fan's Perspective

This was sent to me awhile back, and I am just now getting it up..cuz I am slow. Anyhow, this is from Amanda, and she has some good arguments for her Joey infatuation.

I just finished reading the editorial-ish thing that y'all did on Joey, "8th Wonder of the World," :Hilarious, as usual. And I started thinking about what the draw of Joey is. My thoughts, now: "Out of all my guys.... (yes, sadly, I refer to them in possessive terms. I enjoy doing that in many cases, while knowing full well that certain things, as such, aren't mine. My friends worry about me.)... Out of all my guys, why would people be interested in Joey?" A thought that has plagued many, I know. But lately, much to my great shock and confusion, I have found myself growing increasingly fond of the proclaimed Italian Stallion. Gasp and Horrors!

JC has always been my fave, and I have ever viewed Joey as a person to take mere pity on. My first thought of the guy upon seeing him on the Disney in Concert was, "Oh how sad. Look, the other brown haired guy doesn't get to sing...." For cryin out loud, even LANCE, of all people, got a memorable "Girl were you alone" line. Then hearing the poor smuck try to speak! The efforts he made to choke out a coherant sentence was enough to have anyone take sympathy upon the verbally inept man. "Actually, I scored ten points actually." *Shakes head desparingly* And finally, when I first saw him, I guessed he was at least 35 years old, and I thought that he strongly resembled a white version of the dad on the WB's Smart Guy. Then suddenly, just a couple of months ago, I found myself rooting for Joey. He had creeped his way into my heart. I hadn't the faintest clue what had come over me, he didn't have much going for him: Justin and JC have the looks and the great voices, Chris has the humor, and well... Lance....Lance is from Mississippi, and then I realized it! It was MTV! He keeps wandering over there and popping up on practically any show he'll be let into! Always hangin around with Carson and poor Dave Holmes. He managed to be a judge on numerous episodes of Say What? Karaoke. I believe it all may be a conspiracy from Trans Con, to drill the gullible-Jello-eating Joey into the minds of the American Public and thus bring up society's view of him. You know, him along with the guy from Limp Bizkit. Both of them keep showing up on that channel, getting all chummy with the kids outside the TRL window in Time Square. I know that this is the main reason why I have begun taking a frightening interest in Joey, and hope that by exposing this many others won't succumb to fate that has befallen me. Granted, he seems like a good-enough guy, he makes me do the whole, "I need to care for that one sickly little puppy at the pound that no one'll buy" thing, but I didn't think I'd ever be cheering for him. It's just sad people, sad and pathetic.

Anyway that's my view on the existence Joey fixations, and for the people that liked him before his large MTV up-whelling, I can't explain it, but good for you. I'm beginning to get pitched into the same boat as you. And as for JC being my fave: the boy's still hot, can sing like there's no tomorrow, and I just find him the most entertaining. With comments like, "You cats..... (and) We're droppin the record next fall, " who couldn't laugh their butt off at that? :)

We, the webmasters here at Just Thrust It, just want to say thank you for opening our eyes slightly. Although we will never be Joey fans here, I now see a scary resemblence to the dad on the Smart Guy...freaks me out. Lol.

Aight, so maybe Joey DOES look like the Smart Guy Dad..Thrust ME HOME!
