"The Ackley"
The Ackley has just been finished! This rifle has been worked on here and there for over a year and now it's ready to roar. The Ackley is a Interarms Whitworth Mark X action with a Douglas Premium Air Guaged 26 inch stainless barrel chambered in 338-06 Ackley Improved. It's topped with Leupold base and rings and a Leupold Vari X 2 in 6x18. The stock of choice on the Ackley is an Elk Ridge Dual Grip thumbhole in an exhibition grade claro walnut. The factory floorplate was replaced with a Parker Hale aluminum hinged floor. Fire forming of brass has begun and hopefully in the near future accuracy testing will begin.
