"The Crown Jewel"
This is the "Crown Jewel" It's a Mauser 98/ Czech VZ-24 that has been almost a year in the building off and on. The Jewel gots in name due to the Jeweled or Engine Turned action, bolt body, extractor, bolt shroud, and handle. It was fitted to a 28 inch Douglas Premium Air Guaged stainless heavy barrel chambered in 6mil - 06. The Jewel sits in a light benchrest thumbhole stock in grade 5F Black Walnut. A Leupold Vari X II in 6 to 18 was installed on Leupold base and rings. It has posted several groups in the 1/4 range but testing is still under way. It spits out 55 grain Nosler Combined Tech Ballistic Silvertips at almost 5000 fps. I can't wait to get it to the fields.
