What is "Blood and Ashes" LARP?
GlassCity by Night is Toledo, Ohio's foremost Vampire LARP. It is set in the current White Wolf storyline and events are played out as they happen. The Sabbat has taken the eastern coast of the United States. More cities continue to fall every day, and Toledo is no exception. Once one of the last bastion's of Camarilla power, it stood between east and west, dividing the Sabbat. But the Prince fled the city for some unknown reason and the Sabbat swarmed in to take control. Extermination squads now stalk the Cam resistance, hoping to destroy them once and for all. But, even in this dark hour all is not lost...
Intrigue, combat, social interaction...its all here. Virtually every clan is represented in some way and more players join every game.

Toledo, Student Union, Time: House Rules 1. Character Creation: Standard Laws of
the Night: Revised w/ a few notes --Iron Will, Unbondable,
Luck, and Blase are on a first come first serve basis. You may
also buy Merits/Flaws out of the Clanbooks as well. For these you
should consult a storyteller to see how some of them are used in MET. --Camarilla 6 clans preferred;
Odd clans and bloodlines with Storyteller approval(that includes
Independents and Assamites). --All new characters are
from out-of-town, or have been embraced by a local kindred. --Maximum Generation that you may buy down to is 10th. --Primary trait category is
+1 to generation max, and teriary is -1. --You must arrange your attributes according to trait type. This means you must divvy your stats up into the nine categories, such as Strength, Wits, Charisma, ect... *No stat category may have more than 5 traits in it* If you don't have an appropriate trait to bid in a challenge, you can't test and will be penalized. Ex: If you have 7 Physical Traits with 4 being Dexerity and 3 being Stamina, but none being Strength, you will not be able to participate in Strength-related Challenges and therefore automatically fail. Therefore, all of you people with pure Dex and Wits so you can have a massively high Initiative, you better rethink your character. (minimum) character history. 2.Exp: --1 xp for attendance,
7:00pm is the cutoff time for the exp. I suggest you get there
early. --1 xp for good roleplaying There will be a sign-in
sheet every week. If you do not sign it, you will not receive exp
for that week 3.Spending Exp: --1xp= 1 trait per category
per week --1xp= 1 per ability per
week --3xp= 1 Willpower per week --3xp= 1 per Influence pr
week (with a reason and Storyteller approval) --Disciplines: Inclan= per
LotN. Out of clan= per LotN w/ teacher (+1 week training for I/A) --Haven ghouls can be
bought with 1, 2, or 3 exp depending on how tough you want the
ghoul to be. Storyteller approval for level 3 ghouls. 4. --When resolving ties, use your
total number of traits regardless of the number you have spent or
lost for the evening. --When resolving
challenges, add your ability score to your traits. Only 1 retest
per person per challenge. --Initiative is calculated by adding
Dexterity and Wits-related traits together. 5. --Might can be overbid. Luck can be
overbid. --Might may be retested
against with Luck. --You do not have to
announce that you have "The Bomb" before using it. 6. If its not on your sheet, you can't
do it/don't own it. Do not attempt to sneak anything by us
either, for if you do so and later we find out about it, prepare
to be punished extremely severely. 7. Following powers can be inacted
instantly by spending a Willpower: Mist Form, Down Pour, Form of
the Cobra, Fleshcraft, Cloak of Fog, Shape of the Beast,
Bonecraft (1 for limb, 5 whole body), Tenebrous Form, Horrid
Form, Blood Form, Earth Meld 8. Minimum generation for Elder-Level
disciplines is 7th generation. 9. If you are killed, the only way you will receive half of your total experience is if you have the total written down on your exp sheet and if you die a good death, not "Well, I got bored so I got myself killed". 10. Assisant Storytellers have the
Voice of God. What they say goes. Do not attempt to ask another
Storyteller if one has already made a judgement. You will be
punished severly if you try to do this (we will find out). 11. When you are at the playing
location, you are ALWAYS in-character. Only Storytellers may
grant an exception to this. None of this "Well, I'm out of
character so what I said didn't count." If you wish to talk
out of character, then go far away from the ears of others. 12. If Thoust Pouts, Thoust Shall Be
Asketh To Leaveth. Nobody likes a crybaby and nobody likes
cheater. If you are either of these, please don't come. Our game
is built on having fun. My storytellers and I don't get paid to
do this, we do it cause we love the game. Have no fear, we have
no compunction about asking problem players not to return to the
game. And if your one of those players who absolutely, positively
has to play a 5th generation Cappadocian even though you've never
read the Clanbook, beware what you ask for, you may just get it. 13. Due to mature themes and material,
15 and under are not admitted under any circumstance.16 and 17
year olds are required to have a parental waver. This is to cover
myself, my storytellers, and UT BASH should anything happen while
playing in the game or at the site. The purpose of this game is to have fun. If your not
having fun, talk with a storyteller and work out stuff to do with
your character that will be fun for you and further the story
along. Its a game based on fantasy where you are the star. For
many its an escape from normality, a time to unwind and lose all
the aggravation from the week. Keep in mind some things though.
You may think your tough. You may think you're a vampire god.
You may think you're the most devious person on the planet. Just
remember, no matter how bad you think you are, I can always knock
your fangs down your throat. Back to the Main Menu.
