Arts and Entertainment
Toledo Museum of Art - For those of a more sophisticated taste, the Art Museum offers a wide range of exhibits as well as the Peristyle, a massive concert room with an ancient greek opera house feel to it. Special and rare exhibits are put on display and often the center of attention for full patrons of the museum.
Toledo Sports Arena - Huge concerts, sporting events, and special events can all be found at the Sports Arena. It is also the home of the Riley Cup Champion Toledo Storm hockey team. National musical acts play here to sold-out crowds, and large raves are held often.
Savage Hall - Not quite as large as the Sports Arena, but impressive nonetheless, Savage Hall at the Univeristy of Toledo can pack in the crowds. Usually hosting mid-level concerts, it offers a unique experience as the performers set up in the middle and are surrounded by the patrons.
Outdoor Recreation
Toledo Zoological Gardens - One of Toledo's best kept secrets, the Zoo has hundreds upon hundreds of animal exhibits to visit. From rare fish to big cats to elephants, the Zoo has even held endangered chinese pandas. Truly a wonder to behold.
Metroparks - Toledo Metroparks are scattered all over Toledo and the surrounding area. Excellent places to go to when you just want to get away and enjoy nature. Hours are sunrise to sunset, so chances are you'll have the whole place to yourself. Just be cautious of big rabid dogs.
Botanical Gardens - For those of you who like to study trees and other plants, this is the place for you. Here you can find very rare flora life such as japanese ginko trees. Hours are sunrise to sunset as well.
