The Big Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

The Big Grrrrrrrr -- It's an honor bestowed only on those people, places, things, and situations that just make me growl in frustration. I'm not guaranteeing any kind of annual updates with this; when inspiration strikes, I will too.
'Shipper vs. Noromos. Nothing has had my dander up as much as this lately. This day and age, we live in a world that should embrace differences and diversity, yet we can't seem to stop bickering over something as silly as whether or not two characters on a T.V. show should get together. Aren't there more important things to worry about?? This argument: Should Mulder and Scully be together romantically or shouldn't they? Are they destined to be together or aren't they? has been going on almost since the show began in 1993. I belong on a mailing list where the discussion during the holiday season, of all times, has been reduced to a 'Shipper Noromo bash fest. Everyone is ripping on each other over what they think, feel, believe, or hope. Here's an idea guys: Maybe you're all right in some ways. There are pros and cons to every discussion. Not to mention that they're not even our characters to fight over. Yes, we care about them, it's almost as if we know them at times, but they do not belong to us. As much as I apply the inherent distrust that I learned from Chris Carter onto the man himself, I do have to say that Mulder and Scully belong to him, and their fates are ultimately in his hands. So, why fight over something that we simply cannot control or have any power in whatsoever? Plus, forcing poor Johanney onto the fence to avoid the crossfire was not cool, either.
