BOISE - Local girl has hit the big-time, but never forgets her roots.
Torrie Wilson, now a sensation for WCW, returned home Friday as tickets went on sale here for the May 30th Thunder, which will originate from the Idaho Center.
Torrie and Billy Kidman stopped by several local radio stations in the morning, then signed autographs for two hours outside the arena.
"It was really weird coming back here (last August for Monday Nitro) ... it also was really cool. It was great to see all my friends and family," Torrie said. "I'm sure the Thunder (on the 30th) will be just as much fun."
And she'll have as much support as anyone -- Torrie requested 34 tickets for family and friends.
Torrie graduated from McCall-Donnelly High School (McCall, Idaho) in 1993, which is about 100 miles north of here. He was a cheerleader and dance competitor who also ran three years for the cross-country and track&field teams. Torrie ran the one-, two- and three-mile races.
Plus, she was a three-time Homecoming Princess.
Torrie, born in Boise, moved to McCall in fifth-grade. After graduating, she moved back to Boise. She moved to Los Angeles in 1998. Her parents, grandparents and brother Travis still live in Boise.
"I had a good time Friday," Kidman said. "I really like going to (radio) stations and doing those type of interviews."
