Give us heart to understand
Never to take from creation beauty
more than we give
Never to destroy her for furtherance of greed
Never to give our hand
to the building of earth's beauty
Never take from her what we cannot use
Give us the heart to understand
That to destroy earth's is confuse creation
to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty
that to callously polute her frangrance
is to make a house of stench
that as we care for her she cares for us
Dont forget who you are
In sought of only out own security
We have exploited simply for our own needs
We have disorted our knowledge
We have abused our gifts from her and Creator
Great Spirit whose lands thirst
help us to find the way to refresh the lands
Great Spirit whose waters are choked with debris
help us to find the way to cleanse your waters
Great Spirit whose beauty grows with ugly misuse
help us find the way to restore your handwork
Great Spirit whose creatures are being destroyed
help us find a way to replenish them
Great Spirit whose gifts to us are being lost in
in selfishness and corruption
help us to find a way to
restore balance and humanity
Oh Great Spirit who voice I hear on the wind
the giver of all life
Lead with wisdom and strength so I may help
restore that which we lost.
