The Gallery

You'll find photos here... some are from my vacation this summer. In July, 2000, the Tall Ships sailed in to Boston Harbor and I was lucky enough to be there. We had a really excellent place for viewing the Parade of Ships. Now if only I'd had a zoom lens for the camera.

Most of the pictures are shown as thumbnails. Click on a picture to see a larger size. Help yourself if you want to copy any of them. If you'd like prints, we can arrange that, too! My e-mail link is on my Home page.

Sail Boson 2000 Tall Ships
Parade of Ships, Boston, July 11               Black Falcon Pier, July 14, 2000

Even though we had a stunning view of the harbor, we weren't quite close enough to be able to see the names on many of the ships. When we visited Black Falcon Pier, I was able to identify at least some of the ships. I'll add that information later. For now, you'll just have to enjoy their beauty!

I took eight rolls of film - these are just a few of my favorite shots. I'll be putting more up soon, so be sure to check back once in a while.

Grand Parade of Sail, Boston Harbor

At left -  the Grand Parade of Sail. I especially like the clouds that appeared late in the afternoon. The sky put on almost as good a show as the ships did!

Because of strong winds, many ships had to lower their sails and made their way into the harbor with the help of tugs or using their engines.

Right - one of the few ships with sails still unfurled. A moment later... they were gone!

Sails Unfurled - one of the few

I REALLY like rigging! Reminds me of being backstage in a theatre!

I LOVE clouds! Toward the end of the day, the sky over Boston Harbor put on a pretty good show!
