Below you will find photo's and text submitted by various players of Virtual Sailor. These pictures may show little known spots of scenery or perhaps a chance rendezvous with another passing boat. As a chronicler of peoples cruises I have heard some amazing things such as the discovery of sunken treasure or harrowing tales of heroism in the face of almost certain death. I urge any with a little tale to tell to drop me a line at harlaken@one.net and I will most certainly include your story with those you'll find here. Click here to return to the index. |

Log of the Albert Kaye, on route to the Galapagos: I had some wonderful pancakes at the home of Lutz Heinman, the native German who now runs the Ecuadorian marina, Del Mar. I just had to get the recipe! |

Pancake: 3 eggs 1/2 Tsp. Salt 3/4 Cup Flour 3/4 Milk Apples: 3 to 4 apples, sliced 1/4 cup melted butter 1/4 cup sugar cinnamon and nutmeg to taste |
In a bowl, beat all ingredients until smooth. Melt butter or oil in heavy skillet then pour in batter. Cook covered over medium heat. Pancake may produce bubbles while cooking which should be poked down with a fork. Cook 10 to 15 minutes. While cooking, sauté apples in another skillet in butter and sugar and cinnamon and nutmeg (to taste). Cook until tender. After both are cooked, pour apples over pancake and sprinkle with powdered sugar, Cut in wedges and dig in! VERY GOOD!!!!!!! |
