Playart cars were sold under many different names. They went by Fastwheels, Peelers, Road Mates, Freeway Flyers, and Freewheel Flyers. As a kid, I remember seeing them at Woolworths. I usually passed them on the way to the Hot Wheels isle. As it turns out, I never stopped to notice how cool these little cars were. I collect the ones with the two piece chrome hub-cap style wheels. From what I have found, the first 48 models from the early `70s had this type of wheel, which came in two styles.

Corvette Sting Ray Opel GT Man From Uncle

Above are a few nice Playarts. They came in a variety of colors, mostly enamels. They did use some spectraflame type paints like the red Opel above, but they are rare. The Man From Uncle car is very hard to find and can cost over $100.

Above is the Datsun 240Z, Batmobile, and Mustang GT. The Batmobile is one of my favorites. If you find one with blue figures, you've got yourself a rare piece.

From left to right is a light pink Javelin SST, green BMW 2002, and a very rare electroplated aqua AMX 390 with the older style small wheels.
