Our Museum consists of the different types of dolls that have been "created or manufactured " over the years. There are examples from the late 1700's, 1800's and early 1900's.
Doll making dates back almost to the beginning of time. Mothers and grandmothers, fathers and grandfathers made dolls out of any available items and materials for their children.
They are like fine paintings. They are, indeed, a work of art. Dolls are signed and marked with mold and/or patent numbers or a limited edition number just like fine paintings. These pieces of fine art must be preserved and exhibited for all to see and enjoy.
Dolls have been used in many different ways:
- To poke fun or ridicule people.
- As playthings to quiet children.
- For commercial use- and
To collect them just for the love of dolls.
