Nickel and nickel silver are essentially the same thing, it is also sometimes called German silver, or white brass. This metal is one of the hardest metals I have to offer for jewelry. The only things that are harder are titanium and steel. This metal is a good substitute for silver, it has the same color and is much cheaper. The scan above is kind of bad, the metal should be a bright silvery color. I advise against using this metal for jewelry that will be in contact with your skin for long periods of time, like weeks. I believe that there is a really common allergic reaction in the body to nickel, I am trying to confirm this. This would be why most earring posts are made of surgical steel, titanium, or niobium. If you still want something I would not normally make made out of nickel I can make it, but you have been warned and I will not be held responsible for what may happen. The best way to keep from getting sick is to not wear the item 24-7; rings, bracelets or plate chokers are the things that are the biggest threat.
