Thanks for stopping in. First I have to say, with respect, the picture I chose to use of the house that links to this page was built in Portland some time around 1870's by a preacher named, Clinton Kelly. Sad to say, the day this picture was taken of this magnificent house, bulldozers (which I scanned out) were waiting at the bottom on of this house to tear it down in 1949 to make way for a hamburger joint and other meaningless stores. I’ve always said, "If I win the lottery, this is the house I want to build".

Welcome to our Kitchen where you can see my addiction to hedgehogs, opossums and antiques, which are all, combined with one of my favorite colors, yellow!!!! Since I do not cook, husband does that, and what a WONDERFUL cook he is, I figured I would just decorate it with all my favorite things.

When we first moved in the kitchen cupboards had hideous brass knobs, yuck!!! Not to mention, the entire kitchen, like the whole inside of the house itself, was painted one color of blah, cream. Between my dad, husband and I, we painted the kitchen a pretty light yellow with white trim. So all my decorations are basically yellow, white, and a hint of black to add a bit of pizzazz to it all.

Here is what our kitchen looked like before we moved in. I know this is not the best picture, but it is all we took at that time. Oh, did I mention that our house was built in 1898? It had been completely renovated in the mid 90's.

While shopping on Ebay, I came across a wonderful lady named, Dana. Dana was selling some shelves with decorative hedgehog tile displayed in them. Of course I got to thinking, "hmmmmm, that would look GREAT in our kitchen along with bright yellow tile in a checkerboard type print." So thanks to this little tile of hedgies in the field with tiny little yellow flowers (there is my yellow again for my kitchen), I thought of doing our kitchen.

If you have a favorite animal, she has MANY to chose from, or certain themes, please check out Dana's web site to start on your tile theme today. Just click on this cute little hedgie and let your creativity begin.

NOW, after painting our kitchen, and putting in some WONDERFUL hedgie tile and a few decorations, this is what our kitchen looks like today.

Please forgive me for the way I have "taped" together these photos of our kitchen to give you a better idea of how it looks at a wider angle.

First let me show you how the wonderful hedgie tile looks up close with our bright yellow tile. These pictures are taken just above our stove.

Here comes my wonderful tape job, of taping these photos together. You may need to scroll your mouse to the right a bit to see the whole picture.

For a grand tour of our kitchen, with taped together photos, lol, just scroll on down for more of our kitchen.

Remember to scroll to the right to see the entire picture.

Here are a few of my antiques that I have decorated the tops of our kitchen cupboards with.

Now for my worst photo taping job of all, the other side of our kitchen. Our ceiling is 12 foot high, like many victorian homes, so there is lots of space to play with, and play with it I did.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to visit Dana's ceramic tile web site. Just clikc on the cute little hedgie.
