When I'm sad and downhearted, don't know which way to go,
I call on Jesus I know that he knows;
The burden I carry is more than I can stand,
But he's a cool drink of water in a dry, thirsty land.
He'll help you through the trials you face every day,
Protect you no matter what comes your way;
Friends for the journey you can finish the race,
That holy anointing for the power and grace.
He's been a faithful God along this journey,
As I'm traveling down this weary road of life;
Yes an awesome God always with me,
Through the storms and through the darkest night.
I may be in a valley or on a mountain high,
He is always with me always by my side;
Always there to help me make it through,
He's been a faithful God.
I'd like to thank the Lord for all the things he has done,
Saving my soul and for sending his son;
To die on a cross so I can be free,
Forgave me of my sins and gave a new life to me.
He'll take my hand when I feel all alone,
Give hope to keep traveling when all hope is gone;
Press me in his arms because I'm one of his own,
I am a child of the King praise God I'm heir to the throne.
