12/05/01-- We played a gig the other night! It was a kind of formal dinner thing, which is not our usual cup of tea but you have to take what you get. It was the first time we have played out since we lost our former keyboard player some months ago. Our set list was limited but we played on. We decided to try something that we had never done before, that is to create a drum track and play to it live. Chris who is filling in as our part time keyboardist (since he is our full time drummer) created the beat on a Korg Trinty and played the saxaphone on a Korg M1. If came off good! Of course this is not going to become a habit for us. The main reason we did it was because it was an original song that fit the feel of the occasion. Check out garageband.com to hear the orginal version of the song "Too Late Tonight"
08/23/03-- We played the Birch Tavern last night. This was the first gig with Mike playing guitars. We really had to pack it in the corner there. We wanted to go light, but had to opt for the big bass cabinet when the old Crate when on the fritz. Overall, not a bad show. We vocally sounded better, although we still need to work on our harmonies a little more. We got to debut a few new tunes that the crowd seemed to like. We need to get the bugs worked out, so we can score some more gigs soon.
4/28/06-- Liquid Promises makes a triumphant return to the live stage at Victory's. The night not only was a rousing sucess, but also marked the reunion of James Sr, with the guys resuming his bass playing duties. We played a short (8 songs) albiet energy packed set leaving the crowd as always wanting more. We had been scheduled to play the outdoor patio but then had to be moved inside because according to the management fear of being too loud! Imagine...Liquid Promises too loud! The show went off really well, and it only took seconds for the original chemistry between the guys to make a return appearance. Unfortuanatly Mike couldn't be there due to a new work schedule, so Jim had to dust off the axe and make a go of it (god help us)! Hopefully the next show will have all members there to give the crowds the full Liquid Promises experience. Hat's off the the folks at Victory's, they did a heck of a job that night, and kept the drinks and pizza flowing.
