What She Should’ve Received

If I could have been

your valentine back then;
I just know you would’ve loved
me and, it, together we would spend.

It’s sad when people

are left to feel all forgotten.
Sad when they aren’t told what they
mean; when there’s roses to be gotten.

Your left haunted with

feelings of sadness and low self esteem.
Blaming yourself, you get
down and start to wonder, then day dream.

I know all those thoughts

cause I’ve been there to.
Baby, something tells me it would’ve
been different if I had been there with you.

I’d have held you

so close in my arms
Making you feel wanted
and safe from all harms.

I’d have made you

feel loved so very dearly;
Smile you would, knowing
I meant it sincerely.

Baby I know those days

have past and far away they may be;
I just had to tell you how
it would’ve been if you were with me.

I’d have made you

as happy as a child;
Baby I swear your
world would’ve been worth while.

I’d have wrote you

something so sweet just to say,
“Darling, I’ve been loving
you every single day.”

I wish I could go back

and change those memories some.
Don’t be to sad cause happy days,
for you now, are yet to come.

I feel that time goes on

just to correct things that go wrong;
That’s why I’m so happy
now cause I know it won’t be long.

Sweetie, I had to write this

and try to help in my own little way.
I know back then you received
nothing so... Happy Valentines Day!
