Dali's Car After the disintegration of Bauhaus but before he began a solo career, Peter Murphy produced one album under the name Dalis Car. Recorded in 1984 with bassist Mick Karn from the group Japan, The Waking Hour is a striking album, similar in tone to the angular prog-rock of former Japan recordings. Murphy's vocals were also distinctive, moving away from the more straightahead works of Bauhaus' singles and closer to the avant-garde leanings of extended Bauhaus compositions such as "The Three Shadows" (from 1982's The Sky's Gone Out). Dalis Car broke up soon after the LP was issued on Beggars Banquet, with Murphy beginning his solo work on 1985's "The Light Pours Out of Me" and Karn resuming his own solo shot, which had begun in 1982 with Titles.
