AWARDS ELIJAH HAS WON:
NATO/ShoWest :
In March of 1994 Elijah was named the first ever "Young Star of the Year" by the National Association of Theater Owners (NATO) at their ShoWest convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. After winning the honor, Elijah beamed, "This is incredible. Thank you so much. Oh, man! Wow! Geez, I can't believe I'm getting this award. This is so awesome!" He added, "I'd like to give a really, really, really special thanks to my mom, who has been there for me and helped me out throughout my whole career and throughout my life." At the conclusion of his speech, Elijah held up his trophy and shouted to the crowd, "Here's to good movies! I'll see you later."
Saturn Award :
The 20th Annual Saturn Awards were presented on Thursday October 20, 1994 at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. Elijah won "Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Thriller/Fantasy" from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films for his role in "The Good Son". But before the ceremony he joked, "I think I'm up for short actor in a fantasy."
YoungStar Award:
On September 30, 1995, the first annual YoungStar Awards were held. The event was sponsored by show business tradepaper The Hollywood Reporter and Dick Clark Productions to honor young actors and actresses in film and television. Elijah was nominated for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Dramatic Film" for his role of Stu Simmons in "The War". Although Elijah didn't win this year, he said, "It's an honor to be nominated because 'The War' for me was truly a wonderful thing and a wonderful experience. Stu was a very difficult role to play, and being nominated for something I love to do is wonderful. It's very special."
