On this page you will find all of the answers to any question you could even ask about Babyz. If you have a question that is NOT answered here, please, don’t hesitate to E-mail me with the question. Remember that there are no dumb questions, but if you feel that your question is silly, I will not include your name or E-mail address. So there’s no excuse not to send them in!
Questions About The Babyz Program
Q: What are Babyz?
A: Babyz are virtual bundles of joy that live on your computer.
Q: Where can I purchase Babyz?
A: Babyz can be purchased in any computer store and I _think_ you can still purchase them at Babyz.net.
Q: How do I install Babyz?
A: Instructions are located in the booklet that comes with your Babyz Program. If you have trouble just let me know and I will help you out.
Q: Is there a Babyz Web Site?
A: There is a Babyz Web Site. I even had a link to it in one of my answers. However, it is just a basic Web Site now because “…changes and consolidations within Mattel Interactive have required us to suspend further development of Virtual Life products for the time being. “ You can visit Babyz.net
Questions About Babyz Themselves
Q: How old will Babyz get?
A: Babyz apparently start out at 9 months of age and grow up to be 15 months of age. They do not get any older.
Q: How can I tell if my Babyz is a boy or girl?
A: This is a little more complicated a question than in real life. The easiest way to tell if your Babyz is a girl or a boy is that girlz ALWAYS have eyelashes while boyz NEVER have eyelashes.
Q: Will Babyz ever be able to walk?
A: Not walk specifically. Your Babyz will learn to stand up on their own, you can’t _make_ them stand up, and will take a few steps, but they will never walk, as far as I am aware.
Q: Will Babyz ever grow hair of they are bald?
A: Not as far as I know. Apparently this was a rumor started before Babyz even came out. Would have been kewel though.
Q: Will my Babyz ever learn to talk?
A: Yes. Well, they will learn new words all the time, and will talk in Baby Talk for the rest of their lives but they will talk. If you talk to them, make sure you have a microphone hooked up, and read to them, and sit them in front of the books, they will learn to talk faster.
Q: Can I teach my Babyz to swear?
A: I don’t know why you would want to, but I don’t think you can. I think Babyz is a program that has a set amount of a word that your Babyz can learn and that’s it. Apparently they can learn up to 70 words and can also learn their name. But none of my Babyz know their name yet.
Q: Do I have to change my Babyz diaper?
A: Yes. Unlike in Petz, you have to clean up your Babyz messes. You won’t be able to see anything per say because the program is very G rated.
Q: How will I know when my Babyz need changing?
A: There are several ways you will know when your Babyz need to be changed. The first way is that they will tell you. They will either say “Doo-Doo” or “Pee-Pee”. However, I have found that my Babyz tend to say that even when they don’t need to be changed. Another way to tell if your Babyz need to be changed or not is that they will “show” you that they need to be changed. How? Well, in my experience, they tend to “push” their hands in their lap and then out of their lap. It’s kind of hard to explain but if you keep an eye out you will see it. Yet another way to tell if they need to be changed is that they will make a squishing noise. They make noise when they move around but when they need to be changed it is a different noise. It seems to be the same sound you hear when you take food out of the jars and bowls.
Q: Are some diapers more absorbent than others?
A: I don’t think so. Although I usually put the Wizard diaper on my Babyz when I put them down for a nap.
Q: How long does it take until I have to change my Babyz after I feed them?
A: That’s a tough one. I think it depends on what they eat for some reason.
Q: Do I Have to change my Babyz?
A: I would suggest that you do. I don’t really approve of Babyz Abuse, for one but if you don’t change them they will get cranky and cry all the time. That won’t make the program much fun.
Q: How do I know when my Babyz are hungry?
A: Most of the time they will tell you. That is, if they are old enough to speak. If they are too young to speak they will usually cry when they are hungry. But they also cry when they need to be changed or are tired, so look at all of those options. When they get older and tell you that they are hungry it is still a little difficult if you do not understand Baby Talk. Q: Do Girlz learn faster than Boyz?
A: I don’t think the sex of your Babyz has anything to do with how fast they learn. What does have an effect is how much time you spend with them. If you do not play with them and do not talk to them and do not nurture them they will not learn as fast as they could. Also, the less Babyz you have the better. I know they are cute and all, but they do not learn when they are at Grandma’s House. I suppose Grandma is too busy baking cookies for them to teach them. Besides, it is your responsibility to teach them.
Q: Believe it or not, my Babyz get gas. What can I do to control that?
A: I believe it. My Babyz Tamara, said “Mommy” for the first time, then “Daddy” for the first time and proceeded to let out a HUGE belch. The way to control their gas, whether it be from one end or the other, is to limit their bottle consumption. I only give them one bottle of O.J each morning and they only get their milk bottle, warmed of course, when they are sick.

Q: Can I adopt one of your Babyz?
A: Easy answer. NO! My Babyz may not be unique but they are mine and I would like to keep them. If you want to adopt some Babyz please go to my Adoptions Page. More Babyz will be available there as time goes by.
Q: Can your Babyz come over to my place for a sleepover?
A: Easy answer again. NO! I appreciate the invite and I am sure my Babyz will get along with yours, however, my Babyz do not participate in sleepovers or parties or any thing of the sort. Sorry.
Q: How many Babyz do you have?
A: At the moment I have 8 Babyz at the moment. Seems like a lot, eh? If you want to know more about my Babyz, please go to my Resident Babyz Page.
Q: Which of your Babyz is your favorite?
A: As any good Mother, I love all of my Babyz equally.
Q: Which of your Babyz is the smartest?
A: Of course, all of my Babyz are smart but I would have to say the smartest is the Babyz I adopted recently. Her name is Bella. I just adopted her on the 10th of October, 2000, and she already knows a ton of words.
Q: What’s the strangest thing your Babyz do?
A: There are a lot of strange things my Babyz do but I would have to say that the strangest thing is something that Tamara and Douglas do. They talk in their sleep. Just like my husband and I, they are named after us.
Q: Do you and your husband look anything like the Babyz that are named after you?
A: You bet! They are Babyz that I found the code for. My sister inspired me to adopt a Babyz that looks like her, so I did and then I adopted Tamara and Douglas.
Questions About My Babyz Site
Q: What program did you use to create your Web Site?
A: I do not use a program to make my Web Sites. I do all of the HTML programming by hand. It may take a little longer (I type fast though) but I feel that it gives you more freedom.
Q: Did you create all of the graphics yourself, and if so what program did you use?
A: I did create all of the graphics myself. I didn’t draw them but I manipulated them into the ones that you see. I used Paint Shop Pro 5.
Q: I would like to be a co-owner of your site. Can I?
A: Unfortunately, no. I like to have the freedom of HTML as I stated in one of my answers and I also like to have the freedom of the content. However, if you are looking to make a site, let me know and I will help you set it up. I won’t want to be a co-owner but some credit would be great. *smile*
