This page is dedicated to a wonderful lady, Mary.
Below are some stories from family members of their experiences and memories with Mary. I hope you enjoy each one and know that you will come away with some inspiration that hopefully as Mary would have said...pass it along to others.
The photo of my sweet mother, Mary Trisel, was such a blessing to all of us. Just after she went home to be with the Lord and our Father in Heaven, I just had a day of just memories flooding my mind. I missed her phone calls, her laughter and little sweet messages for her grandchildren. I just couldn't handle the thought of never hearing the phone ring with her sweet voice and all the chattering we did...I sat and cried through out my day, wishing "Oh please, Lord, just one more phone call, Please, I miss her so very much!" Then a small voice came to me and said "Go look in the hutch drawer, you will find your answer!" So with tears in eyes to the point I could barely see where to walk, I found my way into the dining room to the big oak hutch, I pulled open the first drawer and there on top of some old photos was a picture of her holding the phone to her ear, laughing that sweet way she did for so long. She led me to that spot just to show me she wasn't that far away. I dropped to the floor clutching her photo to my heart weeping harder than ever, but like she taught me...I said, "Oh, Praise the Lord, she heard me!" Now this photo stays put on the refrigerator door along with my angel magnets and other photos of her grandchildren. Each day as I look at her holding the phone laughing, she's really saying "Hello from Heaven...we'll talk again when you join me here where God's love is so great you'll be laughing and Praising the Lord as I am now." Thank you Mom, I really needed that! Your an angel for helping me through this time without your being here for us to hug you and kiss your soft cheek, but now I know you're as close as a whisper. Thank you God for giving us this time together and from her loving children we all thank you! The Trisel family in loving memory of our precious Mary.
When I was first married to her son, Marty, I was so anxious to spend time with her. We drove for several hours to reach her home, but miles never seemed a problem, she was worth every mile and bump in the road just to see her and hug her as we walked in the door. "OH. come on in, I was just peeling apples for a pie, I know you love apple pie." We walked into her cozy warm kitchen where she had been baking all sorts of good stuff. We
were setting down at the table as she hurriedly went back to her apples to peel. Then all of a sudden she jumped back away from the sink where she had been peeling the apples when it happened. Mom grabbed a towel and quickly wrapped it around her finger, all the while she was saying, "Praise the Lord, oh, Praise the Lord!" She was pressing the towel against her wound and sort of doing a little dance until the pain let up. Curious...I asked her why she was Praising the Lord at that moment, didn't we have to check to see if she needed stitches? She just laughed at me
and said "Oh, I had to praise the Lord that I didn't cut it off!" "I always trust him, in every way." Amazed at this wonderful sweet soul how she looked at life...what a wonderful way to see things differently. No cursing, no fits of anger, just her jumping for joy that the Lord would watch over her at that moment. We had taken a lesson from that, if the whole world would look at what they think is a bad moment, and in turn...turn it around to something to praise God our Father. To this day as I peel an apple for one of my family, I stand at the sink, knife in hand peeling the apples and just smiling at that one moment in my life that Mary taught me how to look at the negative and turn it into a positive. For that I still thank her each and every day, and I have passed those words of wisdom on to my children. Praise the Lord and thank you mom, the world needs more people like you.
