In the words of Ian Mackaye, "Always gonna stay in touch, never wanna use a crutch! I've got the straightedge!" I've been self-acclaimed straightedge since my junior year of high school. I didn't want to make the commitment until then. I saw, though, how drugs and alcohol and just a plain ol' disrespect has ruined kids' lives. I didn't wanna end up like that. I was introduced to the straightedge way of living by music and friends. It's a whole lot more positive than the life I was living. I'm not going to preach about why everyone should or shouldn't be sXe. I'm just tellin' it as I see and live it. I've seen a lot of kids claim the edge then lose it with a taste of alcohol. That's fine by me, because it's their life. I just don't want chemicals messing with my head. There are so many things to live for. I'm young. Why screw up? Hell, it's even tattooed on my body (to see the tat, click here). So judge for yourself... but, above all, stay TRUE to yourself. You're all you have.
