John Jacob Druckemiller
son of Frederick & Margaret Druckemiller
John was born January 20,1805 in Penn Twp., Northumberland Co.,Pa. Baptized by Conrad Walter, witnesses being his grandmother Christina and her second husband Jacob Echart. Later in life, John married Sarah Gutshall in Harrison Co.,Ohio, Feb.17,1829. They had eight children. Sarah, possibly the Daughter of John and Mary Gutshall, was born Nov.19,1806 in Ohio. They resided in Harrison and Carroll Counties of Ohio and Grant Co.,Indiana after 1852/53. When John came to Grant Co.,Indiana in 1853. He purchased 800 acres of land in Franklin Twp. and gave each child a farm, reserving 40 acres for himself. This was a German Speaking family; it is said Sarah never learned to speak english. John Jacob was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church of Penn Twp.,Snyder Co.,Pa. He died January 26,1888, in Grant Co.,Marion, Indiana.
