Thank you, Lasairan, for such a lovely picture!

Who Is LuCyFurr

Name is Rose, named after my great-grandmother, it is a name that I have claimed in honor of a wonderful woman.  I am 31, and a chronic advocate.  Currently I am not employed due to fibromyalgia, but I am actively involved in writing, several feminist projects, and live in the UK with my husband.

Interests...  Different "scenes" but most involve just being as outrageous as I possibly can, Clothes  (veelllllllvveeettttt) and some drama.  Everything can be dramatic and sensual and Goth.  The dark clothes and makeup and all that sort of thing merely sets the mood.  You can be a Goth, a Domme, or a sub in jeans, and you can be just a fake even dressed to the hilt.  It all depends on mindset, but the wardrobe helps.  However, I don't believe in spending over  500 bucks (pounds) a month just on clothing (it would be nice...)

Movies... Any Monty Python, Dark Crystal (Henson was awesome!), Legend (isn't Tim Curry divine in that movie), Twelve Monkeys (the only movie I can stand either Brad Pitt or Bruce Willis in), Bladerunner, Titus, (by far the most under-recognized movie to date), Sleepy Hollow (Christina Ricci was horrible, but I would ride off with Christopher Walken to hell any day of the week!) anything with Rutger Hauer or Gary Oldman in it, Lord of the Rings (good job Elijah!  Good job everyone, actually!)  I used to like The Crow, but I met the man who was the body double for Brandon...arrogant, and not the kindest fellow in the world.  Sorry, sis, but he hurt you....I will never forgive him for that.

Music...  Dead Can Dance, Peter Gabriel, Sinead O'Connor, Peter Gabriel, Sisters of Mercy, Peter Gabriel, Legendary Pink Dots, Offspring and some U.K bands (Did I mention Peter Gabriel?), Classical (Mozart is my favorite, but Beethoven is my second fave).  My Closet bands (the bands you wont admit to listening to) are Queen and Duran Duran  (hangs head in shame). The usual old Cure and that sort of thing.

Books...  Anne Rice...NOT!!!  Gods no!  Tanith Lee is a diva, and she didn't get the notice she rightfully deserves.  Terry Pratchett (though I love Douglas Adams, Pratchett really puts him to shame), Tom Holland (blending my two favorite things in a stunning fashion...vampires and Lord Byron, do check him out), Stephen King (I don't think he has "sold out", I think he has reached a new high in his career, and has become more fluent than ever.  Read him...he is trying to tell us something...).  Neil Gaiman (In loving Memory of Sandman...), Peter Straub (man scares the crap outta me), and herbwise, Michael Tierra, a most gifted teacher, and approachable, (though he is not a god, he is just a man), Poe, Coleridge, Byron, Wilde, Wordsworth.

Artists...  Milkweed (you'll hear of him soon), Waterhouse, Van Stuck, any of the romantic period stuff, Alan Lee (wish I could find his work).  Endicott Studio (had a great chat with Terri Windling...what a great woman!)  www.endicottstudio.com  If you want to know where Froud, Lee, Gaiman and other freaks are hiding...check here.

Passions...I savour good chocolate, and velvet and silk. Merlot wine, bellydancing and sensuality (not always in that order). Albinos (human or animal, I think they are beautiful). Tall Celtic men to have kneel at my feet (well don't YOU?). A good cigarette in a dark wine bar, laughing and talking with other bad kitties. Shopping for evil clothing (And better yet, finding clothes that FIT). Traveling when my mood moves me, and doing the unexpected, although never totally tasteless. These are a few of my favorite things.....

Okay, enough self-promotion...back to the homepage
