Multi show update--White Collar is back next June along with Suits.
Hawaii Five0 got picked up for another season hooray! No Sherlock until
Fall 2013 goddammit (Sherlock--The Fandom That Waited) And no Doctor
Who until Fall 2012 (so they can flow the season into 2013s fiftieth
anniversary. Cool, but annoying. Mark Gatiss is on Being Human UK now
so I need to start watching again, even though George and Mitchell are
gone. Top Gear just finished until, I think the summer. Stupid seven
show series--WTF! We haven't heard if Supernatural is coming back next
season, and there's just 3 or 4 eps left.
NCIS:
Well, I certainly haven't seen them all, but I am really enjoying it.
I've seen all of season one, and although I know that Kate is toast
after season 2, I'm not all that bothered. I saw eps with Ziva before I
saw the first season, and I like her better. Mostly I watch for Tony,
cos he's funny and cute and such a sweet bottom! I've always been a fan
of Mark Harmon, and love that he's aging so gracefully! (Anyone
remember Summer School?) At any rate, the Gibbs/DiNozzo relationship is
fascinating. I get where all those BDSM writers are coming from as
there's a shit ton of "sir" and "daddy" stuff going on to be
sure. Gibbs is clearly a top, although not so toppy as Harvey Specter
(Suits is a story for another day), and he likes making sure that Tony
knows his place. But at the same time, he clearly loves the guy and
would do almost anything for him.
So where, then, do Abby and McGee fit in? Not sure. Abby and Gibbs
clearly have a history, although she seems to almost be part daughter,
part graduate from the Gibbs school of life, and he parades her around
like she's alumni or a prodigy, taking credit for how amazing she is.
He also takes care of her. Well he takes care of the whole team,
really. And Abby gives him unconditional love and respect, but she's
less of a bottom than Tony, and Gibbs clearly recognizes that. His vibe
is way different with her, like he knows she won't require as much
guidance/care/punishment as Tony. He's got quick smiles for her and she
knows it. He hides his Tony smiles, and keeps the compliments to a
minimum, makes Tony work for them.
As for McGee, there's a bit of coldness there when it comes to Gibbs.
It's like he sees McGee as a bit of an interloper. He sees much of the
same bottomy traits in McGee as in Tony, but there's no core of love
like he has for Tony. He respects his abilities but doesn't trust his
judgement. He doesn't always trust Tony either, but he gives Tony more
leeway--again, the emotional connection. And as for Tony, he clearly
sees McGee as competition for Gibbs affection. He's territorial, and
confrontational, although he too respects what Timothy brings to the
team work-wise. Sometimes he's funny but other times he can be cruel,
and it changes depending a lot on how Gibbs is treating him at the time.
Oh, and there's the usual procedural stuff, but, you know, whatever.
I didn't mention Ducky and Mr. Palmer, but they are clearly Gibbs and
Tony Mark II. Another May December romance, and I see Ducky as more of
a seasoned pro. An alpha top, if you will, despite the delicate facade
he presents. And Palmer clearly adores him. There's stories out there
I'm sure. And I suspect Gibbs relies on Ducky sometimes to help him
with his relationship with Tony, taking cues from the relationship he
has with Palmer.
Ziva's just a BAMF who clearly understands the dynamics of the team on
every level, and she protects them all with an uber-motherly ferocity.
So yeah, gonna watch some more.
Last thought--Michael Weatherly is adorable in real life too--well, as
real as interviews and Twitter can be.
Cheers!
