I Want To Believe...I loved it. Every moment, whether slashy, shippy or inbetween. It was my show, in my language, with my characters, and my darkness and my flashlights and my crazy banter and my cellphones and on and on and on. And then that fucker CC threw that Sentinel moment at me that made me crush my pop cup! Good god! I spent nine years watching every long look, every little potential touch, every shift of armani and Hugo Boss and building on it, and then CC comes along with that scene, that amazing scene--it was like living on Saltines and Tang, and getting instead half a cow and a sundae as big as your head!!! It was crazy and I adored it! And the novelization--obviously a former slasher, cos it's even better than the movie--so well done. Oh, ps Yay Callum--fun crazy gay russian guy! The rule in Canada is if you can't have Nick Lea, you get Callum Keith Rennie *L*
Speaking of the rule in Canada, the other rule is don't ride Greyhound with crazy people. My heart goes out to all the victims, whether family, friends or witnesses. How bizarre and tragic.
Did I mention how much I loved I Want To Believe? Just checking. Dutchie came for the movie, and it was awesome. I loved how during THE SCENE every head turned to look at me *L* Lots of friends came and enjoyed it too. Turns out it's based on a true story--or at least the dog part.
Brent, we didn't have near enough time! Talking to you about everything, but especially teaching, was awesome! Maybe we'll hook up somewhere overseas some day. I am glad things are going so well for you. And I may yet hit you up for that loan if I'm on a street corner in Manchester *LOL Thanks for the phone call, I had fun too!
Thomas proposed to Martin! I mean, yeah, ooh, big surprise there *L* But really for the thought of the legal aspect of it, Thom had mostly maintained it wasn't his thing. I'm glad they're doing it, both as a validation of their partnership (no matter what anyone says, it does feed a basic emotion we're all trained to have) and of course, because of the legal crap that can turn into a nightmare. And it was sweet and romantic, and then we all wandered out to the cottage at Long Lake yesterday for cocktails, red velvet cake and funny stories. Sherry and Al were there so got caught up in the doings in Winnipeg, so that was cool.
Oh, in case you were wondering, I went and saw the movie a second time with Thane and Gerrard, who also liked it. Thane kept asking "was that the moment? was that the moment?" and then when we got the big gay rescue, he was all, like "*that* was the moment, wasn't it?" *L*
I was hoping to get my novel done pre movie, and I came close--all I have left is the orgasms, so I'm gonna go give the boys those now, so maybe I can post it when I post these updates. Then maybe the folks who are so upset about the movie--which by the way what kinda fuckin' fans are you and I totally don't get where you're coming from--will have something to sing about...ooh, cool buffy tie in there, Michele, way to go--and now, an equally clever segue...
drhorrible.com Go. Go now. It's still playing if you don't have iTunes, and it's wonderful. (see icon)
Okay, gotta go. Who knows, maybe if I get everything done I can read the book or see the movie again *LOL
