This is
my first attempt to put together something more cohesive than just your
usual PWP vignettes. And don't let the title fool you-there's best
friends aplenty, but not a wedding in sight. As Will Truman says, it's
not a wedding, it's a lifetime commitment ceremony between two homosexual
men... The title comes from the soundtrack for the movie of the same
name, as do the chapter titles, but the inspiration has nothing to do with
Julia Roberts and her gay best buddy. In fact, I must thank Ed Delicious,
for telling me a story one night in a bar that made me shiver for a week,
and Etcha Sketchy, for doing that thing with the bowed head and the outstretched
arm that almost made me faint. This, then, is their fault.
A HUGE
HUGE HUGE slobbery kiss and hug for the multitalented Neige, who created
the dustjacket for me--so beautiful!! Merci, beaucoup, m'ami!!! (What's
that you say? You think it is stunning as well? Well for heaven's sake,
let her know!! You can drop her a fan letter at: archange00@yahoo.fr
)
You can't imagine what a great honour it is to post this trophy here. Thanks a million to Mort, and to all those folks who stuck it out with me on this story, and recommended it to Mort's Lair for an award! You all rock!!
