NOTHING IMPORTANT HAPPENED TODAY:
Not too slashy at first glance (just Walter pining), but then, when Reyes
goes looking for John, and Langly says "He and Assistant Director Skinner
split for Maryland together," she gets this look, and Frohike jumps right
in, telling Langly to explain, before she makes some smart remark about
it. C.C. and Co. know what side their bread is slashed on...
NOTHING IMPORTANT HAPPENED TODAY II: Walter
protecting Mulder. He knows where he is, you can tell. Brad and John are
supposed to be baiting one another, but it felt like flirting to me. What
do you think, Mr. Doggett?
DAEMONICUS: Not
too slashy, this one, but holy hell was it a good episode! Of course, we
could always wonder about Reyes suddenly wanting to look like, dress like
and be like Scully. Is it idol-worship, Doggett-baiting, or lusting after
our favorite red-head? You be the judge. Please note that the psycho said
Scully loved Mulder (with his easy good looks) but not the other way around.
That happens alot.
4D: Another great
episode! The mamma's boy psycho was pretty scary, Walter was pretty beautiful,
and Doggett was pretty messed up. I thought Walter might indulge in a little
gratuitous hand holding with Doggett in the hospital for a moment, but
he didn't. Brad is playing games with him, though, and is going to get
a punch in the head for his troubles, I think, unless someone writes a
sub/dom thing with the two of them. Any takers?
LORD OF THE FLIES: This
ep was totally funny, and it was great to see that aspect of the show again.
Doggett ain't never gonna be no Mulder, but he has a certain boorish charm,
such as when he laughs at the 'Dumbass' show, or blushes a little mentioning
Spanish Fly. Rocky was fabulous, most certainly a closet case, and I know
when Scully told him she'd had a partner, she was talking about Mulder,
not Doggett. All in all, not very slashy...
TRUST NO-1: Well,
definitely a Muldercentric ep., And the shippers that be gave it their
all, but not only was Shadowman "as surprised as anyone" that Scully asked
Mulder to bed (no one says he actually went), but that initial email was
so wrong on so many levels: "My darling Dana"?? Even if you buy into the
M/S thing, our Fox would never say anything like that!!! Must say that
the opening montage thingy was fabulous, and I wonder if DD got paid for
it.
JOHN DOE: Terrific
"Traffic" looking episode. My poor slashy mind kept wondering what all
happened to John in that prison for those days, and if he lost more than
his shoe, if you know what I mean...And of course, not much else to comment
on, except SKINNER IN KEVLAR--PHWOAR! He's looking out for John just like
he did for Mulder. Awww...
HELL BOUND: Reyes'
turn at the reincarnation story, which was infinitely sexier when Mulder
did it. Still, she was pretty flirty with Dr. Holland, and there were a
couple of gender switches there that make me wonder who the rest of the
Scoobys were during that "failure" in 1864...
PROVENANCE:More
of Walter trying to protect all the secrets, from Scully and her baby,
to his love for Mulder--you see how much he's being pushed by the powers
that be. He looks more devastated than Scully at the possibility of Mulder's
death, and John and Brad do more flirting.
PROVIDENCE: Aah!
Walter's Vietnam story about holding hands with the other soldiers in Vietnam
made me all misty! You just know he was thinking of Mulder when he told
Reyes that story!
AUDREY PAULEY: Not
so slashy, but tons of Doggett angst. Although I suppose you could read
a bit into the Audrey/Reyes dynamic. Of course, no whale songs, but she
saves those for Scully...
UNDERNEATH: Just
an interesting look at good and evil, and what we do to hide from both,
along with some cute "good ol' days" stuff from Doggett and his former
cop partner...
IMPROBABLE: Slashiest
thing, besides Scully and Reyes late night phone call ("Monica, what are
you wearing?" *L*) was the relationship between Burt Reynolds and the serial
killer.
SCARY MONSTERS: I
know Gabe wanted to date Leila, in theory, but he just sounded so sincere,
checking out Mulder's I.D. and murmuring "Mulder's so dreamy..."
JUMP THE SHARK:a
moment of silent tribute for three great heroes, please. The way they held
hands at the end, with Jimmy crying, and then Skinner pulling in all his
favors to get them into Arlington...whole lotta love.
WILLIAM: No slash
per se, although Jeff Spender always struck me as a little light in the
loafers...or in this case, a little light in the basketball runners (bright
red)!
RELEASE: Cool ep,
but nothing particularly slashy. Doggett was emotional and all, but it
was his kid, after all.
SUNSHINE DAYS: I
thought the guys at the start were one of those "couples who don't know
they're couples". What were they doing out there by the Brady Bunch house
that late at night anyway?
THE TRUTH: Can be
summed up in 6 words: "C'mere you big, bald, beautiful man..." It
IS all about Mulder loving Skinner, and Skinner loving Mulder...
nuff said.
