Beat The Fowls

Last Call Ministries

Psalms 34:19

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous;
but the Lord delivers him out of them all."

Ephesians 6:12

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Some people think that when you come to Jesus,
all your problems are over. I've got news for you, get ready for problems.
You have an enemy that hates you more than you realize.
When you received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you were inducted into the army of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Your enemy the devil, that fallen angel, comes to wage war against you.
You are a threat to his crumbling kingdom. He will try to wear you down with troubles.
He knows your weakness and will concentrate there.
In John 16:33 Jesus said, "In the world you shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer I have overcome the world”
Troubles will come to the believer.
However Jesus says, "Be of good cheer",
Be of good cheer because I have won the victory for you
and I will deliver you out of your trouble.

The devil is real.
In Luke 10:18 Jesus says, "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven."
Jesus cast the devil out of many that were afflicted.
In fact the demon spirits in the possessed person cried out in fear,
they knew him and his authority.
In Mark 1: 23-25 we read,
"And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit (devil);
and he cried out, saying, Let us alone what have we to do with thee,
thou Jesus of Nazareth? Art thou come to destroy us?
I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold your peace and come out of him."
There were also times that Jesus cast out a demon saying,
"Thou deaf spirit, Thou blind spirit, come out of that person and enter in them no more.

Let me tell you something,
"The devil is afraid of you."
Jesus has given you authority over all his power. (Luke 10:17) This fear sends the devil scurrying to attack you.
He will try to bring attacks against your household, your finances, and your children. The devil will try to confuse you with half-truth teaching.
All this is in an attempt to wear you out, to get you to give up on Jesus saying,
“It’s not worth serving God, look at all your trouble."
Yes the devil attacks you and lies, putting the blame on Jesus. He points out your faults and condemns you everyday.
Sometimes he comes to you as an angel of light to seduce you.
There are even times he comes at you from behind a pulpit.
Jesus had harsh words for the religious leaders of his day; because of the hardness of their hearts, they were spiritually blind.
They grasped their man made traditions over the teachings of God.
In Matthew 23:15 Jesus says, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites,
for you compass land and sea to make one proselyte,(Disciple)
and when he is made, you make him two fold more the child of hell than yourselves."
Also in John 8:44 Jesus said to the religious leaders, "You are of your father the devil."
Consider this, in Luke 13:25-28 Jesus said,
"When once the master of the house is risen up, and has shut the door,
and you (Religious leaders) begin to knock at the door saying, Lord, Lord Open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you,
I know not who you are; Then shall you begin to say,
We have eaten and drunk in thy presence (Holy Communion), and thou has taught in our streets.
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not who you are, depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.
Then shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves (religious leaders) thrust out".

This is why it is so very important for you not to follow a man.

The Holy Spirit is your guide.
Follow Jesus.
"And they shall all be taught of God." (John 6:45)

In Genesis 15:7 God promised Abram (Abraham) that he would inherit the land that God brought him into.
In Genesis 15:8 Abram says to God "Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
God says, "Take me a heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove and a young pigeon".
Abraham gathered all these and divided them in half. He laid each piece one against another, but the birds he divided not.
You might be saying, "What the heck?" In the land of the Chaldees, the place where Abram was from, this was the ritual when ownership of land was bestowed from one to another.
After you divided the animals, the person transferring the property would then walk through the divided animals signifying a signed and unbreakable contract.
While Abram waited in expectation for God to fulfill what he promised, the fowls of the air came down upon the carcasses. "Abram drove them away".
God has given you "Precious Promises", sealed in the precious blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. Jesus is our signed contract with the Father and the Son.
The devil like the fowls of the air will try to pick at what Jesus promised you, to discourage you. Sometimes you have to wait for the fulfillment of the promise.
The sun went down before God gave Abram a dream and signed the contract. (Genesis 15:17) You like Abram must drive the fowls away. You do this by standing firm in faith, holding on to your promised inheritance.
When you learn to beat the fowls of the air away, miracles take place. In fact you better get good at this because your enemy the devil goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, whom you resist steadfast in the faith. (1st Peter 5:8-9)

Lets look at some examples of "Beating the fowls of the air" away.

In Matthew 9:20 we read,
'And behold, a woman which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
For she said within herself , If I may but touch his garment I shall be whole."
This woman suffered with a disease twelve years, she spent all her living on the physicians and wasn't any better for it.
When Jesus came on the scene she saw the miracles he did and said,
"I want one for me." She had to push through the crowds. I’m very sure that as she went, the devil was whispering in her ear,
“You will never get well, your not holy enough. You know, God put this on you to perfect you through your suffering, carry that cross."
She beat the fowls away and in Matthew 9:22 Jesus said, 'Daughter be of good comfort; thy faith has made you whole.”
That woman was made whole from that hour.

While this was happening, a ruler of the synagogue named Jairus, had a daughter who was sick, at the point of death.
Jairus fell down at Jesus' feet and begged Jesus to come and heal her. Jesus went with him.
(This is where the woman with the issue of blood came and received her miracle.) Then certain people came from the house of Jairus and told him his daughter died and not to bother bringing Jesus to the house, because it was too late to help now. (Mark 5:35)
In the next verse Jesus said to Jairus, “Be not afraid, only believe.”
Jesus was saying, Beat the fowls away." From the moment that Jesus went with him, the Lord intended to heal his daughter, regardless of the worsening circumstance.
(Jesus is greater than your problem.) When Jesus came into the man's house, he saw the great confusion and the professional weepers (some earned a living as professional weepers.) he said,
“Why do you make this ado (fuss) and weep? The young girl is not dead, but sleeps." (Mark 6:39) All those weepers began to laugh him to scorn. (Sometimes when you believe God, you'll be laughed to scorn.)
Jesus didn't let those people bother him; he put them out of the house. (Mark 6:40) He raised that girl from the dead. When you beat away the "Fowls of the air", miracles happen.

I am reminded of the widow woman of 1st Kings 17.
There was a famine in the land. God sent Elijah to this woman, telling Elijah that he had commanded this woman to sustain him.
This was a dreadful time for this woman and her son. When Elijah met the woman, she was gathering two sticks to make a fire so she could make a little cake of the handful of meal and tiny bit of oil she had in a cruse to feed herself and her son,
then she was preparing to die. (This is a desperate situation.) Elijah learns of the trouble the woman is facing, and says fear not go make your cake but bring me a little cake first.
She just told him of her problem. She didn't even have enough for herself, but Elijah told her in 1st Kings 17:14 "For thus says the God of lsrael, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.”
Now this woman could have said, "Get away from me you nut." Instead she did according to the word of the prophet (She gave it away.) and received a continuous miracle.
The meal barrel wasted not, nor did the cruse of oil fail; she, and he, and her house did eat for a full year. (1st Kings 17:l5-16)

We still serve the same God today.
He has a multitude of miracles with your name on it.

"I am the Lord and I change not." (Malachi 3:6)

There comes a day when the battle will be over. Until that day, you have been equipped with the armor of God to repel and overthrow the works of your enemy the devil.

"They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; niether shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them and lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. (Revelations 7:16-17)

It is your Fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Lord; renew your people today.
In the name of Jesus, I ask.
